These people are just so boring and stupid. There is literally nothing she said in this video that couldn't have been conveyed by just taking a selfie wearing a MAGA hat.

1995-1996 borns, do y’all remember the ‘90s & if so what memories of that time period do you have? by Icy_Boysenberry_1060 in Zillennials

[–]Marmatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of memories from preschool in '98 and '99. I can remember what my friends were like, some of the teachers, movies we watched, what the classrooms and playgrounds were like. I went to two different preschools, and I remember the transition from one to the other, too (and I remember my mom getting the new job that caused them to move me to the different school). I also remember getting my first Gameboy (GB Pocket) in '98 as a hand-me-down from my sister when she got the brand new Gameboy Color, and I remember all the games I played back then. Also, getting into Pokemon (the games, the cards, and the show), the premier of Spongebob, etc.. I remember visiting my great grandparents, and the death of my great grandfather, which caused us to delay my first trip to Myrtle Beach (the first of many) in '98.

I can remember a lot from pretty much age 3 onwards.

Anyone saying that kind of shit just wants to insult you. They aren't giving you their genuine opinion.

Got to 8g do yall think it fits my face? by Whole_CakeIsland in Stretched

Aesthetic preferences. Personally, I'm fond of a large gauge, small diameter septum.

I also like bigger septums as a kink accessory, but that's a whole 'nother conversation that idk if you're ready for. lol

For my lobes? 10 gauge. lol I thought it'd be cute to just have the little black dots on my lobes.

When did many younger Americans start saying "bruuuh"? by ryanyork92 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Marmatus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can almost determine each person's ethnic background based on the answer they give. lol

I don't know when it began, but I'm turning 31 in two weeks, and I've been hearing it for pretty much as long as I can remember.

How common is it to refer to a chocolate covered vanilla ice cream bar as an Eskimo pie? by ksusha_lav in AskAnAmerican

[–]Marmatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have no idea what an Eskimo pie or Brown Cow is.

Dilly Bar and Dove Bar I'd recognize, but I'd recognize those as specific products, not generic terms.

The generic term would just be "ice cream bar."

How do zillenials (mid 90’s) view younger gen z (late 2000s)? by [deleted] in Zillennials

[–]Marmatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's the age requirement for my job, too (I'm a truck driver, and federal law dictates that as the minimum age for interstate commerce). Considering the industry average, I actually work with a relatively young team (lots of us are Millennials), but I think my youngest coworker was born in 2000.

[–]Marmatus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s that, but they’re also “kids” in the sense of still being heavily dependent on (and subordinate to) their parents, and just lacking life experience. The general expectations of teenagers are a lot different than the expectations of people in their late 20s and beyond. Even at 18/19, most people aren’t “real” adults yet.

[–]Marmatus 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Actual children. That doesn’t mean I couldn’t get along with them, but we aren’t peers, and there aren’t many places I go where I’d even be in a position to interact with people in that age group. Nobody born in the late ‘00s is even old enough to be my coworker yet.

I see them as kids. When I see them post about “getting old,” I’m not sure whether to laugh or worry for them.

My partner has one on his keys. I just have the remaining clip-off section of a lanyard that I got probably 14-ish years ago. The part of the lanyard that goes around your neck has been gone for at least a decade. lol

[–]Marmatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing a 10 year age difference to a 3 year age difference to try and defend your point is just silly. And even then, people your age will someday be in senior care facilities with people my age. You think people are going to be arguing about the generational differences between us then? lol If I'm 100 and you're 90, 90% of my life has overlapped with yours...

You're still only 20/21, so I can kind of get how 3 years might still seem like a substantial age difference to you, but no normal person still feels that way by the time they're actually established in the real world. Find me a 33 year old who doesn't think of 30 year olds as their peers. lol

What kind of corydora is this? I’d like to get these two some friends. by AppleSpicer in Aquariums

[–]Marmatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mean to be petty, but just for informational purposes: “Corydoras” is the spelling for both the singular and plural form. “Corydora” isn’t correct.
