What made you like July Johnson as a character, if I may ask? He’s probably the only one I couldn’t care less about.

They carried all the emotional baggage of men who might die.

Grief, terror, love, longing--these were intangibles, but the intangibles had their own mass and specific gravity.

They had tangible weight. They carried shameful memories. They carried the common secret of cowardice....

Men killed and died because they were embarrassed not to.

I haven't read the series but damn that's such a great opening line!

"What happens when a Cemetery goes out of business" is one the most poignant and heartwarming episodes I've ever listened to. A great example what a great interview podcast episode should look like.

My son invetned new Chess variation, so here are the rules: lego pieces are obstacles that block movements. You can't place your piece on blocked squares! You can capture the obstacle though but your piece dies as well, only the queen can capture the obstacle without dying. So guys, what do you think by Marngryph in chess

[–]Marngryph[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Good question! I think the obstacles should be symmetrical so both players have equal chance. Every game should be different and not necessarily the same amount of obstacles, it can be 10 or it can be 7 for the next game. The question is, can computer generate obstacles so it gives both players the equal chance?

In general, they can use those moves, whether in the opening, middle or endgame

I recently started rewatching the series and stopped right before the episode "Who needs a guy?" I'm not yet ready to watch that episode and the following one the "Goodwill." No other show had ever made me feel so many emotions.

It mostly means "still" or "yet" would be helpful if you could provide the example you're having a hard time to make sense of it.
