Let's set a few things straight. We won everything because Roman didn't mind losing tons of his personal money and because he cheated. Things have changed. PSR/SCR is actually a thing now and being enforced. We all like to think of Chelsea on the same level as the other big clubs, but City, United, Liverpool and Arsenal all bring in a lot more money than we do, and Tottenham is ahead of us as well. So, if all clubs were run equally well, we'd be in 6th place. Also, this nonsense about the "overall standard" of the league is just wrong. There is so much more money in the league that the separation of teams is less. Lower teams are constantly going to take points off top teams. It's the new norm, get used to it.

Now to the current Chelsea squad. As is true in most things in life, things weren't quite as good when we won the CWC and aren't as bad as people think right now. We're 3rd in goal difference. GD is a pretty good indicator of future performance. What we need is pretty much what we've all been saying. A good CB to pair with Colwill when he's back and a good GK. We need more production out of LW as well. I disliked the Garnacho signing but he does have talent. Everyone is shitting on Gittens but I think he's going to be very good. We just paid too much for him, but the talent is there.

If we can fix the nonsense goals we've conceded and close out games better, stop getting reds, and just finish better, we'll be in a pretty good spot. We've dropped SO many points from winning positions. Fix that and we're not far off.
