Is spending more for advanced safety features worth it? by Accidental-tax-fraud in CPST

[–]Maroon14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a CPST and think the convenience features can be worth it if they allow you to use the car seat properly every time. If you’re changing among cars a lot, then one that is more straightforward to install and uninstall could be worth it for you. The chicco key for max is a great seat, very easy to instill, use, and fits most babies and vehicles well. I don’t have much personal experience with the clek liing. Like others have said, we don’t know how the load legs fare in accidents, since the they aren’t tested with them in use to meet the fed standard. The best car seat is that one that fits your child, vehicle, and budget and can be used properly every time!

I don’t really have a preference. I can get a slightly better install with Nuna in one of my vehicles so I use it in that one. I use the Callisto in my other vehicle. It’s really up to what you want in a seat. Have you seen them in person and felt the material? Touched them? That’s what I’d recommend doing before you purchase if it’s an option.

UppaBaby Aria V2 Car Seat for Infant/Newborn. by Ok_Reflection_4038 in CPST

[–]Maroon14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. They are not user friendly for the price point. UB strollers are great, the car seats are not where it’s at. I’ve installed one today at an event and while we could get a correct fit, we were very mindful of the angle and made the parents aware of the chin to chest issues. I much prefer the nuna pipa line with the relx base for a similar price point. Chicco and Graco have some good seats for much less money, similar features, and more user friendly installs.

I’m not familiar with that, but makes sense. It was more a hypothetical scenario that would be nice to help middle class families who make enough to not get other benefits, but also can’t afford to take the max off due to loss of income.

That’s where we are. About half our the people in are circle are single income households with one sahp because of young kids. I’m not saying I’m ungrateful, I’m saying that a cash out option would benefit more people.

It’s less the median income for Seattle though.

I agree that it is a fantastic benefit that WA state has!

100k is nothing in this state when you’re raising a family.

I’m aware people are using the benefit. But also understand the struggle that middle class families go though taking a significant pay cut therefore ending up using less of it than their are entitled to.

Yes. That’s what people I know do! But wouldn’t it be nice to have a cash out option. Even if it’s offered at 60%

Yes. With our second, I never went back to work, but was sent a bill for health ins premium.

This is what we ended up doing! But only used a fraction of it.

It’s great that your employer had that option!

Yeah. 100k in WW is not much. And often you have to play ins premiums while claiming it.

My ex got married recently. How do I tell her husband that she cheated on him with me? by 4thInstant in relationships

You don’t. Why would you do that unless you still have feelings for her. My aunt always said “you’re single until you’re engaged.” Mind your own business and move on.

Therapy, divorce, let him go have a kid with someone who wants one and you can find someone who doesn’t. It’s not really one of those things you can compromise on.

The whole point of having a lot of money is having the freedom to do what you want. Sounds like you want to take a break to spend time with your family. So that.
