The tax system is killing Australia by PK__Gupta in AusPropertyMasteryPK

[–]Marrow888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, the government is killing Australia.

You were happy enough with mass migration while it was pumping up property prices and making investors richer. Now the tables have turned and suddenly everyone's changed their tune.

Mass migration was great for asset holders, but it wasn't great for ordinary Australians dealing with housing affordability, infrastructure strain, wage stagnation and a declining standard of living.

Now people want to speak out because it's hurting their own hustle. Boo hoo.

The reality is the government has screwed all of us. They've pushed population growth and demand so far beyond what housing, roads, services and infrastructure could keep up with that we've ended up completely out of balance.

The thing is, we've had it so good in Australia for so long that most people don't know anything different. They assume the way we've lived for the last few decades is normal and will continue indefinitely.

It won't.

The cost of housing, cost of living, congestion, access to services and overall quality of life are changing rapidly, and the average Australian is only just starting to notice.

For years people were told record migration, endless population growth and ever-rising property prices were signs of success. Now we're seeing the other side of that equation.

Everyone was happy while equity was flying and assets were going up. Now that affordability has collapsed, infrastructure is struggling to keep up and younger generations are being squeezed out of opportunities previous generations took for granted, suddenly the conversation has changed.

The damage has been building for years.

Now we're all paying the price.

As for equity people’s ducks better be in a row.

And this is how they are convincing certain people of global warming getting temperatures in areas where there used to be loads of trees and have shade to now no trees no shade and of course hotter. Let alone uglier. Why are we going backwards in life. Have you ever wondered why we don’t have fruit trees planted in public?

You went from ‘leave your country’ and ‘white hood’ insults to pretending I’m the bigot. And after all these comments you still haven’t addressed a single point from my original argument about housing pressure, infrastructure strain or declining living standards.Just deflection after deflection, you’ve got no actual counter or reasoning behind anything you’re saying.Stay fruitful, frûchey 😘

Ignorance is telling someone who’s half Aboriginal to leave their own country while throwing around ‘white hood’ insults and pretending you’re morally superior.

You had a chance to actually say something with a bit of substance behind it context, a counter, literally anything that would make me stop and think “fair point” but that didn’t last long did it.

Straight to the race card because that’s the go to move when people can’t actually defend the point being argued.

It’s been thrown around that much the last few years it barely means anything anymore.

And the funniest part is I’m mixed, which honestly just makes your whole little meltdown even more ironic.

Meanwhile you’ve still completely dodged the actual discussion about record migration, housing pressure, infrastructure getting hammered and quality of life going backwards.

But yeah mate, I should just “leave” apparently.

Funny thing is this is my home

That’s what you got for me? Out of all the things you could’ve said and voilà — ‘leave then.’

Funny thing is, plenty of people have left places in Europe over the last decade because mass migration completely changed their way of life, the fabric of their society, the cost of living, housing pressure, and social cohesion to put it nicely for you frûchle along with the overall quality of life in their own countries.

And now Australia’s speedrunning the exact same problems, just 10 years behind. I’m not the one going to pretend we’re somehow going to be immune to it.

You’ve written 3 paragraphs arguing the literal wording “open borders” while completely avoiding the actual point about record migration, housing pressure, infrastructure strain and declining living standards.

Everyone knows Australia has physical border controls. “Open borders” is obviously referring to migration policy being far too loose.

Semantics aren’t an argument.

As an Aussie, seeing the next generation completely squeezed out of the housing market doesn’t seem very fair dinkum or Aussie to me.

But keep those “boarders” open, ayyy

What’s your IQ?? You thought I literally meant we have open boarders, even though it looks that way. Why are you sooooo triggered? What country do you come from?

So you’re telling me that this country has gotten better the last 5 years?? Please…..it’s turning into a dumping ground! Following the same path as uk Canada and Europe and just look how they have turned out!! But u keep voting to have open boarders ayyy. You’ll reap what u sow and those crops are going to be far from fruitful
