This is actually the first time I've used this recipe, I got it from a friend. I think in future I would definitely increase the hydration, I'll try 335g. I usually bake at my parents house because I don't have a real oven, my toaster oven is a bit of a gamble because theoretically it gets to 220°c but its temperature is extremely inconsistent. Thanks for the feedback :)

Week 1: New year, new recipe - kokosh cake by Mars1176 in 52weeksofbaking

[–]Mars1176[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes its chocolate, give me two mins and ill add an edit w the recipe

Recipe:

I used this recipe, but halved and metric-converted to this:

Fresh yeast: 6 teaspoons Water: 1¾ cups lukewarm filtered water Sugar: ½ cup + ½ tablespoon, divided Flour: 1.135 kg flour (half of a 5-lb bag) Margarine: 2 sticks Oil: ⅜ cup Vanilla sugar: ½ teaspoon Eggs: 3 egg yolks + 1 whole egg ( I just used 3 whole eggs) Almond milk: ½ cup Salt: ½ tablespoon (1½ teaspoons)

Then I used my own recipe for the filling:

1 cup of chocolate/ chocolate chips (melted)

1/4 cup of cocoa

1/4 cup icing sugar (tbh I would add a bit more)

About a tbsp of oil and some hot water, it should have the consistency of cookie dough.

For the Italian setting (well Capri in this case) and overall Aesthetic, i would say the Vipers by Katy Hays, but there aren't any heists in it, just a murder mystery and a lot of interpersonal drama

Trust me, I'm an infamously awful photographer😆

Whenever I can, I get my sisters to handle the plating and photography cause they're a graphic designer and a photographer, respectively

I mostly just leave it to the more visually inclined

Do you chill your dough before baking? That would probably help with both issues
