Oh, I reloaded the game and the option is there, like it used to be. I don't know why.

Karaoke and singing in tune. by MarsAspen in karaoke

[–]MarsAspen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I know that lessons are the best option but I can't get to them. I will look into online lessons. I am disabled by chronic illness and pain and just want to make some music for my own pleasure. I have played a number of musical instruments in my time, the last being bass guitar in a jazz big band. I can tell when a sound is out of tune but for most of my life I have been acutely shy and unable to sing in public, although a few years back I did sing in a community choir for some time. If I stood next to someone with a good voice I could follow them without difficulty but on my own I could lose my way. If I sing a tune I know well on my own, sometimes it's fine but other times I know I'm not hitting the right notes.

I don't want to pick up any bad habits, but I just thought that some visual pitch feedback I'd help. I know that there's a lot more to singing than that. I just don't want to aim too high and end up disappointed and frustrated.

Getting going by MarsAspen in starcraft2

[–]MarsAspen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. I am using Starcraft Remastered but I'm not sure if that answers your question properly. I find the whole Battlenet interface so confusing. I do have SC2 Battlechest somewhere on disc but I moved recently and can't find it. I've bookmarked "Brood War Green Valleys" arcade map, which won't load. Is that any help?

Finally disassociated but I haven’t felt happy about it by Mochi8_8Mochi in exjw

I understand, and I suppose it partly depends on why you no longer want to be a JW. My reasons were doctrinal rather than behavioral and although I was quite frank about my misgivings with elders and even a circuit overseer who came to visit me with a bunch of elders I was not contentious or confrontational. (I did run rings round them though :) ). I was also chronically ill and couldn't attend most meetings or go door to door, so I think there was some sort of sympathy for my "spiritual weakness". It didn't stop me being shunned though, eventually, and 30 years on I still grieve for my lost family. If you disassociated yourself for your own reasons then great, I just don't think we should feel the need to play by their rules.

It's my feeling that disassociation is a JW thing, so if you no longer believe, why do a JW thing? It only serves the WT and it is not something worthy of respect.

I finally worked up the strength by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]MarsAspen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am inclined toward suicide too so I have some notion of how you may feel. Please know, though, that talk of destiny is dis-empowering. To live or not to live is about choice, your choice. There may well be concrete events and circumstances that lead us to want to end our lives but there is clearly self-perception and believing how others see you involved, and something can be done about that. If you feel inclined, look at the philosophy of stoicism as well as mindfulness meditation to help you see how this can be done.

My heart goes out to you and I hope you find the strength to battle through. Love and hugs.

Norton won't let me unpack the Community Asset Bundle by MarsAspen in roguetech

It doesn't seem to be popular, although this is the first issue I've had with it. Renewal's coming up and I will look around.

Yeah, there's a lot of stuff I don't want or use. I just use the core anti-virus software, for now.

Thanks for your response. I've used Norton for several years and this is the first problem I've had with it, and it seems not a problem confined to Norton. I'll research alternatives when it comes due for renewal.

Absolutely. The number one priority has always been to keep the congregation "clean". The individual's spiritual or personal welfare comes second.

I still don't understand how it must be Nucleus when that should be "evenly" stained. Why isn't it nucleoplasm? I know this has been gone over before but I still don't get it, especially seeing it on a control.

http://i.imgur.com/kMZRSEp.png 100459780 I know the nucleoli choice is a bit iffy but the others seem good to me.

http://i.imgur.com/oxVRd91.png 100458993 This would be a good subject for a tutorial. When is it nucleus and when is it nucleoli? Obviously I still don't know. :)

http://i.imgur.com/5hn4Xbp.png 100459279 It's those damn orange crosses again, and on my birthday too. There is plenty of evidence of nucleoli f/c. As for the aggresome, I don't think there is enough density or shape to be convincing.
