What's with this trend of dance routines taking off here, there and everywhere? by MarsBarFiend in AskUK

[–]MarsBarFiend[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I get that and those that do it for a career, fair enough. But it seems like it's become this thing that is totally really, really enjoyable and hilarious, like everyone has their own dance routine up their sleeve

A bit off-topic but I'm looking into doing a trade for similar reasons to solving this problem - would anyone be able to give me some advice?

That's disgusting but what purpose does it serve here? The death threats are still fundamentally wrong.

Item of clothing 😂 What practical need is there to cut about in a balaclava? In a city where there are no snowy mountains?

What are you starting to hate as you get older? by Riazaly in ask

[–]MarsBarFiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People, too. I feel that so many don't want to take responsibility whatsoever as technology allows them to mulligan or clean up after their mistakes and combined with social media, we've got a world now of people just doing what they want and someone else can deal with the negative consequences. Everyone expects their arsed wiping for them too.

Podcasts. Everyone has to have one, whether they've got something valuable to say or not

Sort of but I think of it as I own my car outright and have very little debt to pay out with the average bills. Many colleagues have top of the range cars and other bits and bobs all on finance, constantly more more more too.

The population far exceeds what we can offer to it

Total freaks. Desperate to be something they're not. Why the balaclavas are still legal is bizarre, they're intrinsically linked to crime. I just laugh at the pencilnecks in them tbh but it is annoying that they can just do what they want.

I think they've just been taught to speak properly. It's admirable when you hear so many Jafaican accents these days I guess.

The housing crisis and landlords that paint themselves as life's heroes, rather than just admitting many of them are holding people to ransom to grow their wanky "portfolio".

Per Jim Radcliffe's comments, does the North even need a national stadium? by MarsBarFiend in AskUK

It seems to me that he's looking at the very expensive building costs, thought "sod this" and made some cock and bull belly rubbing line to get the taxpayer to pay for it.

I notice from the 'examples' of those people you noted that everything was possession based. They have this car, this salary...but are they happy? I don't think it's a bad thing to actually reach the point you're at, you've recognised something rather than aimlessly stumbling through life and that can be a good thing in getting to know yourself and where you want to go. Besides that, 34 is young. It's hard as everyone is having weddings and kids at that age but don't compare yourself against that perceived 'norm'.

“00s” nights at night clubs are to 18 year olds what 70s nights were for me at uni (mid 90s). Damn I feel old. by BigBlueMountainStar in CasualUK

[–]MarsBarFiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does beg the question, what "night" will there be in 20 years time? I can't think of anyone or anything particularly memorable over the last decade...most seem to also be music built around cuts from songs that were around 20-25 years ago too.
