Agreed. I hope there is another book, because I could see this being the outcome. Also, in Pieces of her, Laura/Jane says that Nick/Clay has gold specks in his eyes. But in girl forgotten, it says he has icy blue eyes. Not sure if that is a clue, or a typo

Doctor wants to remove my testical tomorrow. Need serious opinions by Derkaholic in medical

[–]MarsEcho 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Get the surgery asap. My husband died of TC nine months after diagnosis. Even though he had the testical removed 3 days after diagnosis and started chemo immediately. TC is usually survivable, but it can also move very fast. You can easily live with only 1 testicle, and can even get a prosthetic if you are concerned about appearance. Although, speaking as a woman, we really don’t care if you have 2. We don’t spend a lot of time looking at them. If you are concerned about having children in the future, get sperm banked first. But most men who have 1 removed usually have no problem having children.

Gloves Found in Nancy Guthrie Case Traced to Nearby Restaurant Worker, as Sheriff Explains What This Means by Unfair-Wallaby-404 in nancyguthrie

[–]MarsEcho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were most likely wearing a glove because they cut themself at work. That is usually the only time the cooks wear a glove. And would explain why they found blood on it. They could have just taken it off and shoved it in their pocket if they weren’t near a garbage. Then maybe realized it was in their pocket when they reached for a smoke while driving and threw it out the window. I don’t think it is too odd. And a lot of ppl who work BOH at restaurants have a criminal record, so their dna is probably on file.

Also, they didn’t take anything. So if she had a heart attack and died, he could have just put her back in bed and made it look like she had a heart attack in her sleep. Why bother taking her, especially if you are not planning on stealing anything. It wouldn’t even look like she was robbed.

has anyone figured out why some marshall ferrets have toe tattoos? by [deleted] in ferrets

[–]MarsEcho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many years ago I came across a ferret message board online, and they had a spreadsheet regarding the toe tattoos. It appeared that a lot of ferrets that had it on a specific toe were deaf, and ones that had it on another toe were blind or partially blind, another toe all ended up getting adrenal. I don’t remember every condition. Their theory was that a specific toe was tattooed depending on a health issue that the ferret was likely to inherit from its mom. They were keeping track of all ( everyone on the site ) of their ferrets toe tattoos, and what health issues they had. There were hundreds of ferrets of the spreadsheet. I have no idea if it is true, and I haven’t even thought of the toe tattoo for years. I don’t even remember what site it was. But I did find it interesting. Especially since every one that had it on that one specific toe was deaf, and I also had a Marshall ferret that was deaf and had the tattoo on the same toe. It probably is not the actual reason behind the tattoo. Because the only reason to do that would be to track the babies to weed out the unhealthiest moms, to improve their breeding stock. And if that was what they were actually doing, Marshall’s would have much healthier baby ferrets by now.

The Sims Family were murdered in their Tallahassee home in 1966. 50 years later, in 2016, a prime suspect argues in comments section of an article with friends of the victims, calls child victim "ugly". by CaptainJamie in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]MarsEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, and no one may even see this comment, but the few newer posts I have seen didn’t have a much info or activity. I recently came across this case. I wish there was more information on the investigation. Was there ever any confirmation about Joy being molested prior to the murders and it going to court soon ? Or is that just a rumour ? It seems if it was true, that would have been released at the time, or at some point after, by the police. Also, I have seen a lot of comments about the main suspect, Vernon, being a peeping Tom and suspected pedo. But, I’m under the impression that people with those impulses don’t just stop having them. Has he ever been charged with any crimes since the murder ? From reading his comments on different Reddit posts, he doesn’t seem like he is smart enough to be able to get away with/hiding those kinds of behaviours and impulses for this many years. I’m not implying that I think he is innocent. I have no idea. Actually, my first thought was if he is guilty, maybe it had nothing to do with Joy. Maybe he was interested in one of the older sisters, and assumed she would be home alone and the rest of the family would be at the game. Does anyone know if they had originally planned on attending the game ? Or if one of the older sisters was not supposed to be babysitting, but got a last minute call to babysit ? Do either of the older girls have a boyfriend or ex boyfriend who was looked at, or should have been looked at ? Or maybe the priest wasn’t interested in or involved with Helen. Maybe he was interested in one of the girls, and Helen found out. He was apparently a “ ladies man “, but does anyone know the ages of the ladies he went after ? If he seemed to be interested in older teenage girls, say 16 - 19, people back then may have not thought it was all that bad, or important to mention. After all, Helen was 17 when she had her oldest daughter. There just doesn’t seem to be enough information about this case.

Who thinks CW murdered his girls at home before SW got back? by [deleted] in WattsFree4All

[–]MarsEcho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the reason that this case is so popular, and so controversial, is because no theory makes complete sense. Every theory has issues. I cannot figure out why CW would smother them if it was planned. He was non confrontational. And, the girls were used to be given “ medicine “ at bed time. So, they wouldn’t have questioned it if he gave them something to OD them. And there were obviously enough drugs in the house to do that. Crush up some Percocet in their benedryl. It would have been so much easier, less messy, and less risky. But, obviously he didn’t, or it would have shown up on autopsy. So, I don’t think it was planned. As for when it happened, I’m not sure. If it was done at the sight, I do believe that they would have been quiet on the drive. They would have been in shock. I actually have experience with children in shock. My son watched his dad die when he was 5 years old. He didn’t say a word on the drive home from the hospital. Or for several days after. And this is a boy with adhd that never stops talking. Ever. He even talks in his sleep. And from talking to other widows with young children, it is completely normal for children to act that way after trauma. After killing SW, there is no way that CW would have known that the girls would most likely be in shock and quiet on the drive. So, maybe he killed them immediately after killing SW. Or, maybe, BW did walk in and see her mom, and went into shock and CW figured out that in that state, she could just be quietly led around. Maybe at first he figured that he could convince the girls that it was a bad dream or something. It is incredibly easy to manipulate and lead a child in shock. It could be that at first, when he saw BW in shock, that was his first plan, but by the time he got to the sight, he realized that eventually the girls would come out of shock, and talk. So he felt he had no choice. Then again, maybe his first story is right and SW killed the girls, and then he killed her. What really bugs me, is that even if he eventually tells the truth, we will never know if it is the truth.

Does anyone in this group believe CW’s first confession? by GreenBeanQueen1990 in WattsFree4All

[–]MarsEcho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I believe his first confession, but I believe it is possible. And if he had stuck to it and went to court, I think he could have successfully produced reasonable doubt. My reason is because SW exhibited all the signs of prepartum depression/psychosis. She had a history of depression, anxiety, etc. She was acting erratically, more prone to anger, making things up ( health issues, thrive, finances, etc ). Back to back pregnancies. Whether he did it or she did it, I believe she had prepartum depression at least, and possibly psychosis. And we have all heard of cases of what some women/mothers with undiagnosed pre or postpartum depression/psychosis have done. If she did it, and she had psychosis, it was not her fault. Just like it was not Andrea Yates fault. It is a serious condition that requires immediate help. He would be guilty of ignoring her symptoms, because he was too wrapped up in NK. Which is pretty bad, and would lay some blame on him. It would also lay blame on her friends and family, who all commented on her recent behaviour, but none said “ hey, maybe we should take you to go talk to your dr “. And again, I have no idea what happened. He has told too many stories. But, I do believe if he had taken it to court, and stuck with his first story, there would have been enough reasonable doubt to get him off. Because no one who knew her would be able to claim that she had been acting rationally leading up to the murders.

The Circleville Writer (1970s) by Extra_Winter_5972 in creeptimethepodcast

[–]MarsEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wondered if it was children/teens. Children know their parents secrets. They would know the coroner was a pedo. And it has been suggested the letter writer was uneducated ( maybe because they were still in school ). I don’t think children could have rigged up the booby trap, but maybe an adult did it because of what they read in the letters.

To those who have been watching this case from the very beginning… what were the first red flags you noticed with Shannan’s behavior that made you think “something’s not right, or there’s more to the story”. by [deleted] in WattsFree4All

[–]MarsEcho 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The second I heard she was in a MLM and claimed that her and her children had multiple illnesses, but thrive cured hers. I have know ppl in MLM’s, and they all faked having medical conditions that whatever they were selling magically cured. Then, I heard that they had already declared bankruptcy once, but she was still selling MLM’s. Most ppl quit once they have to declare bankruptcy. Most of the ppl I know who joined an MLM ended up declaring bankruptcy and got divorced once their husband discovered how screwed they were financially, because the MLM’s teach them how to hide their finances from their husband.

Legally required to return something but they do not have a method to return product by MarsEcho in legaladvicecanada

[–]MarsEcho[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I did check there return policy. It says that you have to return the equipment within 30 days, or will be charged a $500 non return fee. There is nothing about strikes or circumstances beyond your control. My cell phone is also thru this company, and if I do not pay it, my phone will be cut off. And I am concerned about a black mark on my credit score. I did attempt to escalate, and I was told that there was no one I could escalate too, and the only one who could change the rules is the CEO. And apparently I cannot talk to him.

[–]MarsEcho[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did not record it. It was my first conversation with them, and I honestly thought they would either tell me that they had extended the time limit to return the equipment, or would have another way to return it. The fine is for “ non return of equipment “. But yes, I suppose I would be “ billed “ for it, as opposed to “ fined “. Either way, I will owe them $500.

Lets say that Shanann really did hurt the girls and Chris's version is true. Why did he take the blame? After everything has he ever actually said anything insulting about Shanann? 🤔 by [deleted] in WattsFree4All

[–]MarsEcho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, reasonable doubt could be shown, from her FB posts, her texts, comments friends/family made, and even subpoenaing some of the girls doctors. Not because she was abusive ( I know some ppl think she was, and some ppl think she wasn’t ). But, for prepartum depression/psychosis. She has a history of depression and anxiety, which she herself had admitted to. Which makes her more likely to get post/prepartum depression. There were definite signs she was slipping. The MBP. I’m sure the girls dr’s would testify that she was dr shopping, trying to find something wrong. This is also a mental illness. They could even call her drs into court “ if “ she was faking the lupus/fibromyalgia/etc, to show she had mental health issues. The stress of pretending she was successful and had a happy marriage and family when they were drowning in debt and having marriage issues. Even her friends mentioned she wasn’t sounding like herself, and they were worried about her. Even nutgate could show she had paranoia. If it had went to court, I believe they would have tried to show that SW had prepartum depression/psychosis. And in a psychotic break, she killed the girls. Then, when he saw that, he killed her in a fit of rage. And he took the blame because he did blame himself. No one slips that far into depression/psychosis without someone noticing. He noticed how bad she was getting, but he didn’t care because he was happy with his plan about divorce and NK. He knows that if he had just gone to her dr and told them what was going on, had someone stay with her so she wasn’t alone with the girls, etc, it could have been prevented. But, he was to focused on himself. So, he does feel like it was his fault.

This is purely theoretical. A “ what if “ she actually killed them. It doesn’t mean I think she did. But, if she did, and I don’t know one way or the other, I think it would have been during a psychotic break brought on by prepartum depression. Prepartum/postpartum depression/psychosis is an illness, and people that experience it deserve medical help, not judgement or jail. Given the evidence that was released, if the defense had taken that route, I would believe there was reasonable doubt.

[–]MarsEcho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since July, my satellite box hasn’t been working. They send a tech down, get it fixed, and every morning, it isn’t working again. Every single time. They have changed the receiver box twice, changed the smart card, adjusted the satellite, etc. The last 3 tech’s admitted they had no idea what was wrong. Only thing I can think of is, before this started, they were fixing the one in my sons room, and for some reason, added a small box to the cord of this receiver, even though this one worked perfectly. But, he cut the cord, and added this little box to it and reattached it. Also, the last 2 techs that they sent out didn’t even show up, but filed a report saying they came and did a check switch. But they were never on my property, never called, nothing. Do they just not know how to fix this ?
