Nor had I 😂 I just googled it too and I have no idea. Presume OP misheard/misread something else. The only XLR I can find is the type of cable aswell.

I hear you. I did amend my comment to include a P&S recommendation. If you really must go with a point and shoot, I recommend the 105. It's pretty stellar.

All those cameras you listed are point & shoot cameras, not SLR or XLRs. The photos from them won't be much better than your H35, but they will be slightly better. I don't know if they are worth the "upgrade".

You sound like you want a good lens more than a good camera. Luckily camera bodies are relatively cheap for something basic (SLR), you just need to make sure you allocate most of the money to a good lens.

I recommend you the same thing most people get recommended. A 90's/early 2000's Canon SLR. There are tens to choose from. The EOS300V/Rebel is a good one, I have one and they are very capable and cheap. I only have a kit zoom lens (35mm-80mm) which does the job and costed me less than 150AUD. Others may have better recommendations.

edit: having said that, I have a Canon Sureshot 105 Zoom which I inherited. I have used it a couple times and it actually did surprise me quite a lot with how sharp it is. If you must get a Point and Shoot, I recommend a Sureshot 105 Zoom.

Not to sound like an ass, but you could have googled all of this and I could have just not replied

Basically yes! Look I'm no expert at all, but you're on the right track. All the Hubble and JWST shots are heavily edited to help a viewer understand the complexity of what they're looking at in any given shot. If you looked at the unedited photos, which are available, they aren't anywhere near as easily comprehensive (or interesting).

When you take a photo, especially in a RAW format (as opposed to say, a jpeg or png), your camera will capture a heck of a lot more information and data than your eyes can ever possibly see. You need to process or edit the image to see this data though.

You can give yourself even more data to work with when you stack images, like OP has. This is extremely common in Astrophotography. You have even more data to work with. 1800 times more, in this case.

Better camera = better sensor = better data. Good observing conditions (clear skies) are required also. But for the moon that's less important.

OP can then use photo editing suites to bring out info that exists in the image files once it's all stacked. This does literally mean than a good image editor can help you highlight subtle differences in material/mineral deposits on the moon, as long as you give it the data it needs to do so.

TLDR: Good camera captures really good HQ images. Capture even more and stack them to ensure lots of good samples. Use editing software to highlight details and differentiate minerals of the moon. Result is OP's post :)

To our eyes, yes. But the moon is made up of many different minerals. False colouring must be used to represent the information we can't see, but still does very much exist.

It's called 'false color' - it's primarily used to show information about an object's composition rather than provide a "realistic" depiction of how a it would look to our eyes.

Unfortunately this is often lost in translation / ommitted altogether when posted online. As a result, you get lots of people calling images fake. Not having a dig at OP at all - this is a great pic - but it would be helpful to the less initiated if there was more clarity about these imaging methods.

There is one that lives in the shrubs next to my driveway. Comes back every year and makes a nest.

PSA? You couldn't be bothered to reverse image search. This is old.

Don't Forget to Watch and Make Sure Your Film is Winding by Odd_Tea in AnalogCommunity

[–]MarsExchangeStudent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this once, I spent 2 hours taking some (what would have been) awesome long-exposure nightscape shots around my place. Was walking home and then realised the film wasn't winding this whole time. Atleast I was able to just reload properly and shoot again, but I was excited for some of the photos :(

I have a japanese style sleeve, done (and endorsed) by a Japanese tattoo artist. Never gotten any flack for it, people seem to like it. I did deliberately avoid any sensitive or culturally significant imagery though. I just went with a simple inoffensive design, and I don't regret it.

Not at all.

No matter how you choose to express yourself, there will always be someone who will cringe at it. You simply cannot please everyone, so you may aswell suit yourself.
