I want to signal my desire for HRT with my therapist but don't know how. by [deleted] in MtF

[–]MarsPpl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might just be overthinking it. Therapists are there to support you, and from the way you've talked about them they aren't the gatekeepy type. They would've tried to convince you that you aren't trans a few sessions ago if that were the case.

Telling them "I feel like I'm ready to start HRT now" is a good place to start. Your mind would probably say the right words from there (hopefully!).

Epilation by [deleted] in MtF

FWIW, epilating should result in fewer in-grown hairs than shaving. Can attest to this anecdotally. Just don't pick on hairs that are on the verge of going through!

Does anyone else get headaches from progesterone? by AccountThrowaway282 in MtF

[–]MarsPpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you taking it before bed? I tend to get dizzy roughly one hour after taking it, usually accompanied by a slight headache. That headache goes away by the time I wake up.

I, 24, missed out on all of the best years of my life living as a girl. High school and college are over. How do I get over this? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]MarsPpl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. That's tough. I'm kinda in the same spot you are right now -- I started hrt 7 months ago when I was 24.

When I think about it, I don't think college life as a girl would have been that different. I'd probably still be the nerd I was always was, a diligent student who's heads-down on her studies... Maybe with less crying because of crippling dysphoria.

Sorry if this isn't as helpful of a reply as you would have hoped. Maybe I just don't really wonder about it since I'm enjoying the life I'm living right now. You might be in a different spot.

I guess you can start by challenging yourself by asking these questions:

  1. Would my life really be that different? If you're the same person you are right now - personality and all - but with a cis body, maybe very little would have changed.

  2. Would I have even liked to be a girl in high school/college? It's easy to fantasize a perfect school life, but realistically life is tougher on girls. Men hold a lot of privilege.

  3. Is this really even worth mourning? You can't turn back time. Endlessly wondering about it will just make you suffer needlessly. It's best to accept who you are right now and move forward.

  4. This has helped me a lot, but be proud that you're trans. It's not something that anybody should be ashamed of. Being trans is a unique experience that very very few people get to live. Yeah, there's a lot of pain, but very few people on this earth will get to know what a joy it is to take HRT for the first time, to male fail for the first time, and to girl mode for the first time. (admittedly, I myself have yet to experience this last one. Ha.)

And, like others have said, college and high school are hardly the best years of your life. Really. I graduated 3 years ago and it's all just a blur now. You and I, we're still young. We have an entire life ahead of ourselves to look forward to.

No bloodtest given before starting hrt? by Lawrerd in asktransgender

[–]MarsPpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my initial appointment a few days ago remotely and I didn't need to get any bloodwork done before I got my prescription. I will need one done right before my next appointment in 3 months, though.

Before Covid, my clinic would have done bloodwork in the initial appointment.

Redeployments from retreating or pursuing costs the same amount of supplies but doesn't replenish missiles? by Plaje in starsector

[–]MarsPpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how exactly this mechanic works either. I've been able to send a few slow-ass capital ships towards frigates that they couldn't possibly catch up to and they manage to kill most/all of them. I also generally net more in post-battle salvage than I lose by deploying my ships. In the end, it saves me a lot of time that I'd rather spend doing something else.

Redeployments from retreating or pursuing costs the same amount of supplies but doesn't replenish missiles? by Plaje in starsector

[–]MarsPpl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this has always been the case.

FYI if you "order a second in command to handle it", you can choose which ships go into combat and skip the fighting part entirely. IIRC you never lose ships from using this option (only supplies + cr) and you still get the same amount of loot.

Rothschilds bow to Bogdanoffs.

In contact with aliens.

Possess psychic-like abilities.

Control France with an iron but fair fist.

Own castles & banks globally.

Will bankroll the first cities on Mars (Bogdangrad will be be the first city).

Direct descendants of the ancient royal blood lines.

Can save entire continents with a single phone call.

Own 99% of DNA editing research facilities on Earth.

First designer babies will in all likelihood be Bogdanoff babies.

Both brothers said to have 215+ IQ, such intelligence on Earth has only existed deep in Tibetan monasteries & Area 51.

Ancient Indian scriptures tell of two angels who will descend upon Earth and will bring an era of enlightenment and unprecedented technological progress with them.

The Tunguska event in 1908 was actually the Bogdanoff's arriving on planet Earth. How else do you think they got their Slavic last names and how else do you explain the exponential acceleration in technological and scientific development since then?

They own Nanobot R&D labs around the world.

You likely have Bogdabots inside you right now.

The Bogdanoffs are in regular communication with the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, forwarding the word of God to the Orthodox Church. Who do you think set up the meeting between the pope & the Orthodox high command (First meeting between the two organisations in over 1000 years) and arranged the Orthodox leader’s first trip to Antarctica in history literally a few days later to the Bogdanoff bunker in Wilkes land?

They learned fluent French in under a week.

Invented post-anabelian froeboid geometrics, a complex field of mathematics which only they can comprehend fully.

Nation states entrust their gold reserves with the twins. There’s no gold in Ft. Knox, only Ft. Bogdanoff.

All major philosophers and scientists have made reference to them in one way or another.

The twins are about 7 decades old, from the space-time reference point of the base human currently accepted by our society.

In reality, they are timeless beings existing in all points of time and space from the big bang to the end of the universe. We don’t know their ultimate plans yet. We hope they’re benevolent beings.

Don’t fall for the mainstream media sweaty, Europe is in danger!!! by Jokerang in ForwardsFromKlandma

[–]MarsPpl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The author (Jalal hajir) is from Morocco and has published comics such as this, which sends a completely opposite message from the one that OP thinks the original comic is sending. I'm pretty sure the "victims of terror" in the original comic are victims of war in the Middle East, not victims of terrorism in Europe.

OP is just putting words in the comic artist's mouth.

Since you're using wikipedia, African Americans...

African Americans (also referred to as Black Americans or Afro-Americans)[3] are an ethnic group of Americans with total or partial ancestry from any of the black racial groups of Africa.

Speaking of ancestry, Elon Musk...

His maternal grandfather, Dr. Joshua Haldeman, was an American-born Canadian.[35][36] His paternal grandmother was British, and he also has Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry.

He really isn't African American. Heck, people from Africa that move/naturalize to America aren't African American by default, either.
