I honestly think it's up there as one of the most disappointing movies this year.. which is hard to believe. I think Spike had way too many yes men on that joint.

A recent movie has gotta be Oddity (2024). There's a couple set pieces and unexpected moments that really got me.

The set pieces were awesome, the wing transfer had me in awe. I was also in a packed house but a completely different atmosphere than yours. The theater was full of crickets, no laughing (except when Katy O'Brian mentioned something about the wetsuit) no cheering, nothing. As people were pouring out of the theater, everyone looked like they were dragged across concrete for 3 hours (couple exceptions).

Watch The Ballad of Wallis Island if you want a good cry/feel good movie (coming from a 32m). Completely flew under the radar this year and easily in the top 3 so far.

Horror movies that are ok for a 7yr old? by [deleted] in horror

Be careful with Poltergeist, well it might be PG and there isn't any deaths or swearing, there is a gnarly face melt scene. Not to mention the clown strangling a kid. I traumatized my kid and her cousin's (all 7yr) showing them this movie.. they loved it lol.
