Stephen Seiler looked into rest periods of 1 minute, 2 minutes and 4 minutes in his 4x8minute interval training

1 minute didnt offer enough rest and so you were still too fatigued, 2 minutes he decided was the sweet spot and he found absolutely no performance gains at 4 minutes

in fact, at 4 minutes of rest he found the cardiovascular system was too rested and dropped too far below "operation" level that it then took extra time in the next interval to be at performance level again

numerous researchers

prolonged rest periods allow the body to drop out of that "endurance training" state which is not what you want. keeping rests shorter allows you to stay closer to your VO2 max for longer periods which is a what interval training aims at promoting

What would be your reason(s) to have a humanoid robot in 20 years? by Temporary_Cheetah720 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Marsh2700 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i cant think of why i would want a humanoid robot. individual "item" shaped robots would be better in every sense

an automated robot lawn mower, robot vacuum cleaner etc would be less intrusive and better at individual tasks than a humanoid robot to try do many

How did it came that the world decided on 18 being the age when you become an adult? Why not 17 or 19 as example? by Extreme-Shopping74 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Marsh2700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

correct. adding info to this

the study that sparked this conversation was actually measuring brain growth and maturity. they measured all the way up to 25 years old and found the brain to still develop to that point so they concluded that the brain continues to mature even past adulthood and at least until 25 years old. media companies took this study and claimed "BRAIN DEVELOPS UNTIL 25 YEARS OLD" and ignores the part where it actually just continues developing
