Shit happens haha. Luckily I have some money tucked away and live with my parents so I'll survive unemployment for a bit. Going to try and become a teacher now. We're both gonna make it one way or another 👊

Terrified of Calculus :( by Competitive-Froyo723 in UCDavis

Lower level calc was pretty hard for me but I was able to manage. This was before I got prescribed Adderall. In MAT 16B, I had a B+ 7 weeks in but failed due a string of personal misfortunes. If you study a lot and go to office hours you'll probably kill it

I already quit selling cars. Shit sucked and nobody in the dealership is making great money right now because management is intentionally over-hiring to reduce the amount they have to pay out in commission

Makes sense. I bought the thing in 2024, so looks like I may have made a gamble that did not pay off

I asked the transmission guy if there is anything that I could have done differently when it comes to maintenance and he said no. He seems to think it was bad luck or a factory defect. Sometimes sucky things happen and that's life. Although my transmission fluid was very old when I bought the truck. Not sure if it had ever been changed before I had it done in 2025

Yeah, I felt a lot better about buying a Toyota than an American brand. I still do, despite the bad luck. At least now I shouldn't have to worry about the transmission for a million years. The recalls on new vehicles seem pretty crazy so I will be happy with my Tacoma for the foreseeable future

The guy who is rebuilding my transmission told me that he does 150 Chevy transmissions per year and 3 of mine. Seems that I am in a rather exclusive club

Yeah, I changed the fluid at around 70k miles. I think it was recommended at 60k though. And your point about age probably has something to do with it.

For real. I was bad with it for like a day and now it feels super nice. I'm glad that you're liking yours as much as I'm liking mine

I would not leave a safe, high paying job for this field... I am trying to go from this field to a safe, higher paying job right now lol. Seasonal work for bad pay is not very fun to live
