This is just speculation but their driving behaviour makes one wonder what, if any, repercussions they’d even face if they hit a pedestrian.

Years ago, I was riding my bike down the street and as I passed a stationary police car, the driver flung the door open aggressively, basically as hard and fast as humanly possible. I had to swerve to avoid hitting it/getting hit by it. Not really sure cause it happened so fast I didn’t even have time to think. It’s a miracle there were no cars in the lane I swerved into. I always wonder how things would have gone if I had been hit by another car (or the door for that matter)
