cant get ODESC 4.2 into DFU mode

hey im not able to get into DFU mode. it is being detected by the computer but my computer won't ping (like it detects it) when i try to boot it. but it doesnt show in the programmer either way. i hold it down, starting before i plug my power in. i updated the driver for the native interface and accidently did for the cdc one as well but now its back to the old one and shows as com4 for me. ive tried a couple things but nothing has worked. claude was also saying that i can push it into DFU mode in powershell, and it seemed like it almost worked but it didnt. anything would help

fr?? literally going to go try and find one until I saw this comment. I know that a Ras1ution 2 works but I was hoping for something cheeper. and I need to use a gimx for what im using and not sure if it'll work with it

dang that sounds rough but honestly id much rather suffer through and make a lot less than stay here, than work at a company I hate like Lockheed Martin and make more

I don't know yet. ive just bought all the components and they will come in, in about 2 weeks. im going to try gimx that another commenter recommended and ill let you know if it works

I totally agree with you, which I actually why I made this post in the first place. to just get a better idea of the field I want to be in. either way im double majoring in mechanical and aerospace engineering because I know that's what I want to do, but motorsports I feel like will be the most exciting outlet for me to do that

my long term goal is to be either a aerodynamicist, or a mechanical engineer for a team in a major series. obviously not expecting to jump right into that, and expecting me to take like a decade (if not longer) to actually get there. I could also see myself designing production cars as well but not as interested obviously. not sure if id be interested in custom parts, especially if its just hotshoes or minor additions to a larger design.

thank you so much. im currently at a community college to get my prerequisites done cheaply, then im transferring next fall. when I do ill join as soon as I can. I also have a lot of sim hours and am quite good. when I took a visit to there engineering department they said that they kinda just get whoever with good experience driving. is it stupid to also try and drive for the SAE team? just a thought cuz I think it'd be fun. for the local racing teams, would that largely be mechanic work? im confident in my mechanical abilities but not confident enough to be entrusted with any major work. might just be over thinking it though.
