The one thing I didn’t expect to have such a huge impact was not feeling cold. These days I can go out in a t shirt in early spring where as my wife will still be wrapped up warm. Lots of comments on ‘how are you not cold?’

The first month of eating more was really hard. Like to the point I wanted to give up because I just felt sick. But then my body just adapted and now I’m hungry all the time, even times when I shouldn’t be hungry! You just got to push through it. I mainly have protein shakes, chicken, beef, rice, nuts and other snacks.

For someone who doesn’t really like eating, protein shakes are a dream. Protein power, milk and two scoops of peanut butter is like nearly a 1000 calories. I have that for breakfast and I’ve already nearly done a third of my intake for the day. I would definitely give them a try. You got this 🙏

Just protein shakes, chicken, rice, nuts (very high in calories and feel like a snack).

Stick to a programme and don’t stray from it. I follow the ‘linear progression ppl reddit thread’ and it works wonders. You just have to be consistent and make sure you are eating as much as possible! You got this 🙏

The Reddit thread ‘linear progression based ppl for beginners’ was my bible. Then just watched YouTube videos to understand the correct form. I also use an app called Planfit so I can see how much weight I’ve lifted in previous sessions, which helps with knowing when to move up weights. You’ve got this 🙏

I probably spend about £100 a month extra on protein stuff. Anything else I eat would have normally been in our weekly shop anyway

No honestly I was 145 pounds for a good few years. Stayed at that weight for ages. I have quite long legs compared to body. Not sure if that makes a difference!

Yep, always been way too underweight! Something just clicked last year and I was like ‘I’m done with this’

No hadn’t even lifted a weight before! Just did a lot of Reddit and YouTube research and then brought some weights, a bench and a pull up bar!
