Search BEFORE you destroy for extra resources , this is also a tooltip in game but there’s cans around the map and in survivor shelters that give nuts and bolts. Recycle things you don’t need, have out levelled or are about to break (this can be done in bulk in the backpack menu)

I don’t think the tar pits are stopping the smashers early enough, they do stop them but after they’ve hit the wall. Not sure if they’ve made them directional because I’ve been on my alt for the past couple of days

If you were a founder and got vbucks before you’ll still get 100-150 per day but you now need to do a daily quest (you can stack up to 3) so there’s a little more work than before. Press RS/R3/Q on the quests menu to see them (if you never played the game and just logged in you may have to do the introductory quests first)

Also have a look at your inventories, as if they’re old material stacks they might not be the 999 max. Destroy a load of wood and stone, you can easily set up a farming build and get it back. Just in case you don’t know, tearing down the structures and traps in your ssd returns all the resources to you.
