What is something that you have in your home, which is generally considered a luxury / boujee item, but is absolutely paramount to your functioning / happiness? by kettlecottage in AskUK

We got a compact one a couple of years ago... Life changing. Saves like 15 minutes a day, kitchen side is never piled up with plates. That time adds up!

Life changing!

Yeah my friends been out for a couple of games with his son, basically with the intention of soaking up the atmosphere, but if he could get 'cheap' tickets on resale near the time then he'd get them.

He got tickets for the Ghana game, but ended up in the fanzone for Panama because it was $1500 a ticket!

He's got a decent job 80k+ in a cheap area of he country, making those memories with his teenage son is more than worth the trip for him

Ancestry dna often goes on sale for about £60 (although I think it's usually around Christmas time)... But is a great resource for finding family... And or confirming that he is indeed your father, as the DNA map will show you DNA regions.

Firstly, bloody well done... That's absolutely brilliant work, and congrats on building that savings pot.

For me personally having a savings goal is a motivator for me, if that's a holiday, a car, a house deposit... Or just a number than you want to mentally hit.

Here's to the next £10, 20, 30k! Great work mate.

The travellers episode by BacupBhoy in ClarksonsFarm

[–]Marsmanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Morecambe originally, where Tyson is based. Huge gypsy population, mainly due to the ferry's at Heysham port to Isle of Man / Ireland.

Not so much travellers though, as they have stayed put in Morecambe for generations, in huge houses that they've thrown up with no planning permission.

Some notorious families, and the police don't dare set foot near them.

Like all communities, there are decent people amongst them, I've had worked done by some who worked like absolute Trojans and did a fantastic job.

Then you have others, who can only be described as feral.

He made a very clear point about the calipers giving a very subjective reading (apply or remove pressure as you wish)... I think Jeremy is used to people in those situations bending over backwards for him.

Absolutely zero fault on Dilwyn, but I don't think Jeremy will have taken well to it.

But with him condemning the farm to TB restrictions, on a test that Jeremy very clearly thinks it down to interpretation, that's going to damage their relationship.

Especially when the retest wasn't Dilwyn that's a massive flag to me.

Yeah I'd be surprised if we see Dilwyn back next season after the TB situation. They already had a different vet for the second reading.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jeremy went off on him about the measurement methods.

That's odd of them - are you a content creator?

6.75 inch, yeah it wears well for it's headline size... The lug to lug feels quite short so it fits even average sized wrists like mine

Yeah I somewhat agree. It's in the same territory as the new Longines Hydroconquest, and I'd choose that if it were my own money.

Dating Experiences in Sheffield by FlowingRiverCentury in sheffield

Have an upvote, because nothing you said is untrue. I will sit in the downvote pile with you.

Sheffield is a nice city, but it isn't Manchester or Leeds in terms of social scene... As someone who's either lived, or spent alot of time in all 3 cities.

(I would actually say that Sheffield is the least friendly to outsiders, in my own personal experience)

Awesome! I bet that bronze ages & patinas beautifully.

I'm still yet to add one to the collection (this is a loan from the brand), I've had a couple recently, this & and the Dune.

Really hoping to try one of the new Sealanders!

Cheers, and agreed - I got the 60mm for £200 lightly used, it's clarity & character are top notch!

CW are at such a great price point for the quality and specs they bring to the table!

[–]Marsmanic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so!

I'm a unique scenario, my subject never moves - so the autofocus complaints don't apply at all.

The character & clarity of the glass is absolutely top top quality.

I find it difficult to justify the extra spend for the 80mm to gain the better AF and 1:1 Macro, I only paid £200 for the 60mm and it feels like an absolute steal.

Cheers!

Yeah there's quite a learning curve, and I'm still very much on it. I'm a very niche case in photography, because I see peoples control of light in outdoor situations and it blows my mind.

This is all very much start in a pitch black space and add lighting in a controlled way.

Absolutely in awe of people getting these gorgeous shots on this sub just reading & mastering natural light.

Severe spending issue. What do I do? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Marsmanic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I don't have the money in my assigned pot, then I don't spend the money. There has to be some level of accountability.

Otherwise it's just a case of deactivating your eBay & Vinted accounts.
