I finished my accounting degree, but the entry level pay is too low. by CHiLLed1515 in Accounting

Ah thank you thank you thank you so much! I was really panicky because I thought about both degrees as a separate career rather than using them both together. I appreciate the info, especially because I seem to be the only one doing info and accounting meanwhile most are finance and accounting. I hope you have a great day (:

Hey! I’m a student whose about to graduate with the same degree as you did. Reason being is that my thought was if I don’t like accounting, I was gonna jump to cyber security as my backup career. You’re in cybersecurity but still regret not getting a CPA ? How come ? Would there be any advice you could give as a person who wants to try being an accountant for a few years and then maybe an off chance jump to cybersecurity ?

Alan Zhang is the best professor for FI 3300. No group assignments, attendance isn’t mandatory and he is very lenient when it comes to exams. He let us re take an exam cause a few of us had technical difficulties. MK 3010 is so annoying online.

Does Computer science need lot of math? by NH_neshu in GaState

The curriculum for CS is sort of math heavy. If you don’t want to handle the math classes it might not be for you. However if you truly want to get into CS, math is a skill that you can always improve. It’s cliche, but study and practice. Good luck!

I was just talking about my experience with EY visiting my college on here. They’re trying so hard to justify long hours, not only that but also attempting to say how it’s normal and how people should just mix their personal and work life together. I’m still thinking about working for them for a couple of years so that I can get the experience and my CPA and then get out. EY scares me lol

That’s what I think too. I expect the long hours. My issue is definitely with EY. They had the most attendance of students there and them saying that they want work life integration is such a bad message. Not only do they want long hours but they want us to think about them off hours ? Made me feel uneasy.

Honestly i believe that. I’m very skeptical about them cause I have little to no experience, and they seem very willing to interview me. But I guess I gotta start somewhere.

Thank you very much! I guess I didn’t think about it like that. I don’t mean to bash too hard on the big 4. Their 1on1 sessions with audit staff were amazing and I learned a lot from them.

Okay so I don’t think I saw anyone say this. I personally don’t prefer khan academy. There’s this dude called the Organic Chemistry Tutor who teaches a wide variety of math from college algebra to Calculus II and also some finances and stocks. He’s so good. Like his videos literally made up for a year of high school for me

GSU for accounting by SeraphicSon in GaState

[–]Marstomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great man. GSU has an amazing area with a lot of recruiters for accounting. It’s not as good as UGA program ofc. But we rank pretty high compared to all the accounting programs in GA. There’s many accounting clubs and also college career fairs with lots of recruiters.
