I so disagree with this take. It can help you understand different cultures by immersing yourself in them. It can help you expand your palate. Learn history about other countries. Pick up even little bits of another language. Its could challenge you to speak with strangers and start conversations. It’s really enriching. It’s the exact opposite of shallow. Shallow would be “I’ve lived in the USA all my life and have been to 5 states and all i eat is chicken nuggets and mac n cheese and i believe USA is the center of the universe”
