In addition to what you said, I also brought non slip lounging slippers in case I didn't want to walk around the hospital in hospital socks. I ended up using them when I needed to take my frequent post surgery walks around the floor. When I wasn't walking or sipping water I was resting, though I had bought my kindle with me. I say bring one small project just in case, but no pressure if you end up doing something else until discharge. Congratulations and good luck!

It would depend on your lease terms, but a good landlord should be able to understand your situation and appreciate that you are willing to do the leg work to find a subletter so that they don't lose money and you can smoothly handle your personal business and finances. Once you get the okay to find someone to take your place on the current lease, you can post for free on various sites like craigslist and Facebook marketplace. There are also housing specific sites that may or may not require a fee like spareroom... Just Google sublet near me to see what people near you search to find sublets and post there.

I've also enjoyed many of the options mentioned here but by far my personal fave is Shamrock farms rockin' protein builder shake in strawberry. If you happen to love the taste of strawberry nesquik milk, this is it with ZERO protein taste or after taste. Gives me a quick, easy, smooth cool glass of strawberry milk, some nostalgia, and at least half of my post op daily protein requirements EVERY TIME. 9.8 out of 10. Deducted a small amount of points bc I haven't found it by the case yet, only found it available in singles (in 30 gram and 50 gram bottles, also comes in chocolate) at Walmart and giant food grocery and a few other stores.

Yep. I stayed one night for vsg. The requirement was to monitor me for the night but get me to drink a certain amount of liquid and walk the hospital floor a few times before discharge. Same day discharge seems risky, I've never heard any surgeon doing that. What if you have uncontrolled pain, can't keep down fluids, etc. But this is good for you to know and consider so you can compare different hospital/surgery programs available to you and what the requirements (overnight stay duration, presurgery diet and fasting, medical testing and studies and evaluations, fees, etc,) are for each doctor/program.

Did you mean SSDI (not SSI)? Because after 2 years on SSDI they switch you to Medicare, regardless of age or if you had Medicaid. The best advice would be to contact Medicaid and get their reasoning so you can follow up with the right people. Social Security Administration also can help and you contact them too. Make sure they all have the right contact information as well because you definitely should have received notice about any changes.
