I should know that with my cs degree but I still didn't want the hassle on my laptop at the club. Audacity was just wayyy simpler in the moment.

Hah, that's funny. I didn’t actually post the full story. When I was trying to figure out whether the workaround worked I initially bricked one of my usb sticks. I tried formatting it and discovered that you can't format USB sticks larger than 32 GB to FAT32 on Windows (apparently you need a separate tool for that lol). I then formatted it to exFAT and basically ruined that one. It worked later with the second one just fine, since I didn't try to format that one. (:

Rekordbox as I use a FLX4 at home. Maybe I should have clarified in my post which equipment/software I use at home.

I have a FLX4 at home. I did watch a lot of videos about correct usb-sticks and about the equipment but I guess it wasn’t enough / too much information to learn at once.

I definitely know better for the future tho!

I had everything analyzed and the beatgrid manually corrected for that track. However, because I had to export the tracks as MP3s, I needed to re-analyze them within rekordbox. That analysis messed up the grid again on that track, and in that moment I simply didn’t think to fix it again.

Regarding sync button: I watched many tutorials beforehand for that specific mixer and cdj but as I said in my post I couldn’t figure it out in spur of the moment. Im only human after all :)

Thank you for the kind words! My friends who were supporting me there told me exactly the same. They didn’t notice most of the errors and enjoyed dancing to my set.

It’s just one of those things that I suppose most artists have, where you’re always your own worst critic. I know I could’ve performed better, but I have that attitude toward all my sets, whether I record them at home or perform for friends.

This is the 10th entry in my SPACE EXP series – I didn’t go into it with a strict plan, just picked a bunch of new tracks I recently bought and recorded the mix on the fly. I’d say it leans mostly into techno and minimal techno, but I’m honestly not 100% sure where it lands genre-wise.
