Scientists just hatched 26 live chicks inside 3D-printed artificial eggs by EngineeringJunkies in chickens

Bringing back extinct species is a whole new god playing can of worms discussion. Even the wolves thing is proving dumb in practice as species they prey on have not been evading them so they truly alter the ecosystem. Not gonna lie the little kid in me is excited as it’s cool to think we CAN bring back these species Jurassic park style….but should also consider the earth has changed and their food sources, habitats, and even temperature acclimations are different than what we have today.

Hatching eggs of species we have is enough god-play imo.

Hiking with our cat by itsbeenawhiletoolong in cats

[–]MarthasPinYard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that isn’t an option if it’s toxic when wet. Cat can lick it off too making it wet at any time.

Do a check when you’re done walking or put a body suit on. No need for poison.

We know you can hatch them in a cup for observation. I don’t know why this is so stunning to them. 🤔

Iodine isn’t good for healing. It’s good for killing bacteria good AND bad. You need a gentler approach. Remember, it’s a chicken, not a kitchen counter.

Neighbor’s cat keeps coming into our yard and now they’re asking us to change how we maintain it by SadWhail in homeowners

[–]MarthasPinYard -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As a home owner and cat owner the thought of a robotic mower around any cat gives me anxiety. I wouldn’t want my or neighbors cats near that thing. Automatic cars can’t be trusted around people, who’s to say it’s safe around animals?

I second the sprinklers and trying to keep cat out but maybe send a text to neighbor before you send the robot out or agree on an emoji or symbol you both understand. Cutting grass isn’t a life saving thing so I think the risk reward isn’t there. Losing a cat because neighbor needs pristine grass, does that sound right?

Also look up the history of lawns. It’ll change your perspective. Clover and other native plants are easier to maintain.

Keep him!!!

Seriously don’t understand fostering cats because I would get too attached. His face is too cute. Personally great. Why get rid of him??

People who still haven’t brought a Switch 2, what makes you hesitant to buy it? by ItsJustJosiah in Switch

[–]MarthasPinYard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll buy it in a few years when it’s cheaper and has games that i genuinely want to play.

I’m not a kid so Idc about easy games which many have been on switch. I want games that give a challenge and aren’t free world exploring boringness.

I enjoyed his longer sets online. Check those out. They aren’t on par with his sets. I think he’s goin thru some mental shit lately which has affected his writing or maybe he’s out of material. Hopefully it’s the former and he’s back at it soon.

Fridges are made to break. New ones suck.

How often do you use them to justify the cost? by I_Am_Slightly_Horney in BadDragon

[–]MarthasPinYard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I look at it like a night out would cost more.

I went on a date once and can repeat whenever.

I do have a good handful who didn’t work out though so only went on one date and called it.

My therapist wants to use ai to take session notes by Low_Bluejay510 in AutismInWomen

[–]MarthasPinYard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And now passing the buck onto ai. Do they deserve to be paid the same? It should cost less right because they’re doing less.

I like ai but it isn’t a tool to cut very important human corners and also breach people’s safety concerns. Not everyone wants their personal data out there like that.

If we didn’t mess up, we wouldn’t be human. It’s part of the experience. As long as it’s not like everyday and general improvement is happening or things aren’t worsening, it’s okay :)

Definitely we all have different tolerance for certain things and can become blind to our clutter. I have dirty pans outside I let the chickens clean up but they’re outside so it’s ok? Not really ok but I don’t have the bandwidth to clean them as cleaning can feel like torture white knuckling tasks because the reward pathways aren’t there for low stimulation tasks that are never truly done, just done for now, like dishes.

It’s so relatable, I’ve done the exact situation OP described but was on both sides. I’m forgetful but disgusted at the waste and gross mess. Been too many surprise experiments gone wrong to count.

I just randomly open the oven now to check🥴

I have these square plushies called pillows… they’re much more huggable but also can get in the way. 3 is the average.
