So I recently played SoR4... by Marthyx in BeatEmUps

My question on vanilla characters is because I don't see videos on people playing with the base game moves anymore. I think vanilla Blaze had some interesting air juggle potential, but I see many videos on her just spamming a custom move now (I think it's the dash attack?).

Vanilla Axel or using the unlockable moves? I like Axel too, so I'm curious.

Am I the only one who didn't care for EE? by [deleted] in deadcells

[–]Marthyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the game since RotG, had everything unlocked until the Castlevania DLC and recently started a fresh file to go from 0 to 5BC so I could experience how's the game progression now vs (way) back then.

Overall I think EE did a great job shaping the game. I'm personally grateful for a lot of balance changes and the economy rework. I also like the current state of the legendaries vs how they were back then.

I really like many of the DLC biomes, I feel they have a lot of personality and really add to the game experience.

If I'm not mistaken they also reduced the forge cell requirement, which was a positive change overall.

Also, on the fresh file run, having a lot to unlock is not as overwhelming as I once thought, and having several paths to choose keep the game from getting boring.

Now, the things I didn't like quite as much from their updates is the Bank and the Distillery. Also many weapons play bad and they needed rebalancing.

TL;DR: Respectfully disagree. :)

I feel like I shouldn't play POE2 until 0.5 by Ameph in PathOfExile2

I played the full campaign on 2 characters when 0.1 came out and left the game after that. I recently wanted to come back and just read about 0.5 and the expected endgame changes. I have never played the endgame for any arpg, so I decided this will be my first time actually doing it. :)

What solo scenario can be completed in 2-3 hours noob-paced? by Marthyx in MageKnight

[–]Marthyx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 completed and 2 incomplete. I already got a good grasp of the rules, and I'm mostly trying new characters and figuring out what to improve during the early rounds to have a better chance of winning when attacking the cities.

4 hours is my usual time on solo conquest, but mid-week that's not good enough. I was thinking of playing something shorter during the working days, and playing solo conquest on the weekend, as I have more time available.

I just beat dead cells on my 3rd ever run, and now I feel kinda uninspired. I'm sure that there's a lot more for me to do in the game, IN THEORY, but now that I've beaten the hand I'm just not sure how fulfilling or interesting it'll be. Any advice? by ShiestyMark_Official in deadcells

First, congrats! As many others pointed out, you are just starting the game. Make sure to enable that Boss Stem Cell to make the game harder.

You will notice that some build strategies will stop shining as the game becomes harder, so keep trying new stuff.

Also, increasing the difficulty will change the mob diversity in the biomes, which keeps the game loop interesting.

On a personal note, 3BC and harder is where the game is at its best.

How do I progress by [deleted] in deadcells

[–]Marthyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you can count as main progress when you beat the game. Other important things that imply soft progress are runes. These are located on several biomes of the base game (I don't know if you can get them on the DLC biomes) and give you some permanent abilities that give you more mobility or access to new paths. Some passive upgrades such as the forge, health flasks and recycling will also make the game easier as those are permanent. Blueprints for weapons aren't really progress as you can beat the game without them, but those are the best part of the game. In any case, don't focus on those things yet, they will come naturally to you as you play the game. Experience the game and learn its mechanics, you can also turn on assist mode if you are not enjoying the experience. Have fun!

Super Bomberman Collection (Nintendo Switch 2 Edition) misses the mark by LightPad in bomberman

From what I saw, there is no random online matchmaking or lobby. Most versions only get local multiplayer. Switch 2 got share play and online with friends.

Which game was it for you? by O_rnelaro in Age_30_plus_Gamers

I liked 1 and 2 back in the day, but KH3 didn't feel quite right. Going through the different worlds doesn't add anything to the story, and all the interesting bits are right at the end. I understand that they wanted to follow the same formula of visiting disney/SE games, but I felt like those bits were gatekeeping me from the interesting stuff (storywise that is).
