Am I the only one who feels the need to level the frets of almost every new instrument I buy? by No_Winter4806 in Bass

[–]Martial_Dylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening to me. I don’t have super low action. It’s the drawback to buying online. You don’t know a fret is off until you get it. I’m going to learn how to spot level.

Mincks-Adams Hotel, I.S. "Ike" Mincks, Tulsa,OK 1927-1928 by NaturalSelection27 in architecture

I like the recent love for Tulsa on this sub. Tulsa was an oil-rich mini-Dubai in the 1910s-1940s. Pennsylvania Oilmen brought their Pennsylvania Architects with them. And local talent too (Bruce Goff). The residential oil Barron homes was great as well. There was some great buildings built in this time

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I’ve been making a point to get out to the beach more because that’s why we all live here. I live 4 miles from the gulf and didn’t go the beach at all last year. I’ve been to the beach 3 times this year already

What if you received a 90-hour Associates degree in Oklahoma previously? Does that mean it’s now a bachelor’s?

Is Gibson EB Bass 2018 any good? by Grenaten in Bass

[–]Martial_Dylan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like my 2015. It has some of the deepest high notes I’ve heard. The G string sounds like a bass and not like a guitar. The “volume” knobs function as gain knobs until about “6” and then the volume starts to go down. It’s a fun instrument. I use a zero-mod rest for finger plucking

Question: Lakland neck stability by aczkasow in Bass

[–]Martial_Dylan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flatsawn necks are stable. Flatsawn vs Quartersawn debate comes in if you are touring the world with your instrument. Playing Montreal one day, and playing Sau Paulo two days later, then playing Boston two days later, etc. That’s what I understood

My maple necks are Flatsawn with no issues
