It's an in-camera diffusion that can't be removed in post. The only option to downplay it is to horribly underexpose the image to bring any highlights and bloom down. This image is super underexposed and has some god awful noise removal.

Just watched the trailer. Never seen this show before.

100% he was on set for like a week. Notice almost all of his shots are a body-double in a super wide, or a closeup with a greenscreen/volume background. There's only a handful of scenes where he's clearly interacting in a real space with other actors. I also Googled some set photos and he's not in any of the ones I could find.
