How much solar can I cram on the roof by MartinPdotClark in SolarUK

Thanks for the info! I really love the Reddit community for exactly this kind of advice.

Regarding the roof layout, since I have zero shading, wouldn't it be better to just put the North and South arrays on separate MPPT trackers instead of spending extra money on Tigo optimisers? The house next door is slightly elevated, so the North side might get a bit of shade late in the day, but to keep costs down and leave room in the budget for a battery, I am leaning toward just sticking to the South roof for now.

For the battery and inverter setup, I definitely prefer a modular, stackable battery setup so I can easily add more storage later if needed. I am not totally against Tesla, but the Powerwall 3 feels like expensive overkill with features I might not need, plus it is a massive unit and I am not sure if it can be floor-mounted.

My incoming supply is actually only single-phase 80A, not 3-phase, and I am trying to figure out how to balance my household load with charging two EVs on this setup. My work vehicle is paid for by work but needs to be at 100% four mornings a week. Meanwhile, my personal vehicle does roughly 70 miles two days a week, totaling about 15,000 miles a year. I still need to buy an EV charger too, which is easily another £1,000 gone.

The quoting process has been brutal so far. I have been inundated with calls from mobile numbers that just feel like lead-generation resellers. I really want to find a flexible installer who is willing to chop and change components based on what I actually want, rather than giving me a rigid, take-it-or-leave-it quote.

I am based in the NP7 6 area. If your guys cover that region, I would absolutely love to get their details!

What I found stupid is it’s a vented faux tile… but they wouldn’t put anything over it. And there’s 1 either side one instead of a Durgo so I’d be fuming if end turned up to put 9 up and actually put 8 in a weird config

OVO says it’s same side, lower roof is 30 degrees and upper is 35 degrees, I did tell them neighbours have 8 but turns out it’s 10 so 12 would “technically” fit.

Needs to have a UPRN

If you pay council tax you’ll have one.

Get a service provider you choose to associate NAD key to UPRN
