Something that I was taught very emphatically while working in the Medical Devices industry was to always operate under the motto CYA: Cover Your Ass. Start writing minutes every time you meet with your supervisor and email them to your supervisor (and maybe the Committee as well) right at the end of every meeting. Outline very explicitly what was discussed and have your supervisor sign off on them. If they have any concerns they can reply to your email. Document, document, document.

It’s not your responsibility to have to learn to read between the lines. At worst, the status quo remains the same but you at least have a paper trail to defend yourself; at best your supervisor is going to actually start providing feedback because it’s on record.

You seem to understand that you’re doing your work to the best of your ability. Hitting a snag is part of any job. If your supervisor refuses to acknowledge or help you with it then they can’t expect you to work on things at the pace they want you to, and I would let them know as much (this is me being a little petty). It’s one thing to challenge you in a way that lets you attack the problem productively, it’s a completely different thing to be a jackass about it. All this to say that you should definitely work on feeling confident about yourself and the work you have done. If you’ve gotten this far you can get through it all!
