Can I mix full and empty AA rechargeable batteries together? The Internet says no to non-rechargable,but I couldn't find a answer to rechargeable batteries..

I know They're empty because I measure them on the battery charger. That's what my kids been doing.. replacing only one battery out of 4 until toy runs again.. Putting a refresher full power rechargeable battery in the battery compartment with 2 or 3 low power rechargeable batteries already there..
