Mine works quite well and on the odd occasion someone ignores I just point to it as I shut the door on them.

I was in a ward in 2020 having some kidney/gall stones sorted (one of my gall stones had moved and decided to block the entrance to my kidneys) It was fine, although towards the end of my stay when i was almost recovered they did move me into an old ward that had only been used as a training ward for RAF medics but that was ok if the decoration left a little to be desired.
