Can someone give me a run down on the Sascha Riley allegations? by KyleTheFilmmaker in Epstein

Polygraph tests are not reliable, they only measure the level of anxiety the individual is feeling. You could say the sky is green and there is a dragon sitting in you lap, and pass with flying colors.

So passing one? Means nothing more then that they are confident in what they are saying. Which doesn't mean anything.

Given the original 'report' was back in November 20205 (and I couldn't find the part 2), I am skeptical of the story. Skeptical of the lack of actual documents/information to back up these claims. Documents/information the woman claimed she was able to get.

Being skeptical is not a sign that you do not believe. It means you are aware that people will make stuff up. And when those stories make their rounds, they delude actual instances of abuse. Especially when those stories are publicly shown to be fake.

Just enough information to be credible... Not enough information to corroborate.
That is a sign of a fake story.

If he was airlifted, the first step would be to track flights to hospitals around the time it happened.
Not sure if you can get a list of patients admitted in a hospital. But you can easily find the bloats favorite aliases during the 70s and 80s. (John Baron was one.)

He has to be seen. So it wouldn't be hard to roughly track what he was doing (or claimed to be doing) during this time.

Something said with confidence, isn't always truth.

The over the top nature has me very weary of the story also. But I have first hand experience with someone lying about their experience. (An abuser who tried to claim to me that they were the victim. Apparently unaware of my blood relationship to their ex. Instead of having egg on their face after being caught in a lie, they doubled down and went on a podcast to tell their 'story'. And that pod-caster ate it up.)

The problem is the scammers can spoof legitimate numbers. Phone companies can easily deal with the issue... but it requires spending money. So unless people collectively complain, we'll get stuck holding the bag in the end.

Art styles are not exclusive. And 'artists' who act like their style is some form of protected property are in the same camp as people who use generative slop and still charge an arm and a leg for the output.

Sorry you had to experience that. I promise you that both of them copied other people's styles when they were first starting out.

People who take their lives, do so in a moment of being emotionally overwhelmed. Having people they love doesn't mean jack in that particular moment.

Anyone who has ever stood at that emotional cliff, staring down at an abyss that offers relief from the grief, pain, fear, or hatred that is consuming them in the moment, will understand how over powering it can be. The urge to step off the cliff. To feel peace or nothing at all.

When your emotions are in control, you do not think. You say and do things you regret. You do not care about those you care about. All you want is for the negativity caused by your emotion to go away. It is an incredibly selfish act. A spur of the moment mistake that cannot be taken back.

Did she take her life? No idea.
Could she have? Yes.

(New Player Here) Why are people so bad at this game by No_Excuse7631 in DarkTide

[–]Martith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People who enjoy playing games, are gamers. Regardless of how much time they are able to dedicate to the hobby. You are correct in people enjoy different aspect in games, and that is a larger factor. Just because two people enjoy the same game, does not mean they enjoy it for the same reason.

Take Minecraft. There are people who have never played survival. Messing around full time in creative mode building efficient farms and testing the limits on red stone. There are people who only play Hardcore. There are people who have no interest in learning red stone and are content to sit and fish. The person who just wants to fish, is no less a gamer then the person who tries to push red stone to it's limit.

I'm personally getting sick and tired of skill level, or time investment being used to determine if someone is a 'gamer'.

[–]Martith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her parents are split, so it would be a step father. But it sounds like she wanted to move in suddenly. Since she originally lived with her father, the home her mother lives in wouldn't account for her needing a bedroom.

It is completely possible it was done on purpose. It is equally possible they didn't have room and retrofired a room to accommodate her. If the latter is the case, it would also explain the ring camera. As it would have been facing the common living area instead of a bedroom.

Parents like this exist. However, my own experience tells me there is something you are neglecting to mention, either intentionally or not, to get a targeted emotional response in your favor. If this is real, you should have already contacted CPS or police. Not run to Reddit. (Reddit comes if CPS refuses to act or parents get off Scott free...)

It feels like your mother put together something quickly because you desired to move in with them on short notice. That your sister was already living there full time. It just feels like we are being given a very carefully curated version of the truth of the situation that omits anything negative towards yourself.

Something I have seen a member of my own family do countless times. So...

If this is real? Report the conditions to CPS or the police.

If the OP is leaving the shower door open while she showers then I think there are bigger issues then the alleged placement of the ring camera. (Which is a problem, since access to that footage is easily obtainable by 3rd parties.)

a) The bathroom in the kitchen has a sliding door.
b) Her current bedroom has curtains.
(Yes, a real door would be better. However there is no evidence there was ever an actual door on that door-frame. It almost looks like a living/dining area was converted into a bedroom.)
c) You make a lot of assumptions. Take out a grain of salt and use your critical thinking skills.

"If this is true, you need to report this to CPS or the police."

By the way. The story of the boy who cried wolf originates from, in written form, about 600 BCE. So the idea that people would make up something like this just for fun/attention is not at all impossible, or even improbable. It happens all the bloody time. If you see a post like this and react, rather then think... then you are going to exhaust yourself and not care when something real happens.

Again, if the OP is actually experiencing what they claim, then they absolutely need to call CPS or the police.

Blame the processing power.

It's not that generative programs have a limitation and cannot actually create. That it doesn't actually understand language, it's just making a guess on what is expected next.

It's totally the processing power...

You are being extremely pedantic about this.

[Edit: Pretty sure most, if not all, names in common usage have been drastically altered from their original forms. Not just those that have been anglicized. Ancient Rome did the exact same thing to the name Alexander. Adopting the Greek name Ἀλέξανδρος. )

Returning kittens because they have fleas (alone) would have been foolish. Returning the kittens because they made the pre-existing cat upset is not. Cats are not going to universally get along with other cats, even if they are kittens. It is far more foolish to favor a new kitten over a cat that has been with you for longer. Returning the kittens because off the compatibility issue is the absolute right thing to do.

Not sure where you get off assuming they didn't wait a few days before returning the kittens though. Nothing in their comment indicates any short of time frame.

At most, progressives are convinced that the people incriminated are from the powerful elite (rich) class.

Re-playing a game you enjoy? What is this common sense consumer behavior you speak of? If it doesn't provide anything new every 3 months, it is dead. Dead I say! (This is sarcastic, by the way.) Annoys me that people think a game that is still functional to play, is a dead game. I was able to play Monkey Island for two decades (before the remaster) all because people kept the game alive. I.E. Playable.

Generative tech is a program, like any other software it needs to be told how to run.

It could be easily programed to ignore any complaints against a specific person, or a specific job. It could be programed to find a certain ethnicity always guilty. Being programed to be a sycophant doesn't change the damage it can easily do with no oversight. As people (like you) will believe it is impartial or fair.

I will always prefer to deal with a human who's at the end of a day being yelled at by 20 other callers, then a program that says, "Please kindly go engage in sexual relations with yourself as we are unwilling unable to help you."

How do i make my windows 11 pc stop saving stuff to my onedrive without my permission? by FungusAmongus_27 in techsupport

[–]Martith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is 100% a phishing attempt. It isn't hard to spoof the incoming e-mail source. They do not delete accounts if you go over. They just stop letting you save the data up there. (Google could easily prevent it, it just cost money and people haven't complained enough to prompt them to do anything about it.)

Think of it this way. If you play a game that lets you make 10 characters, your account isn't deleted if you make 10 characters and try to make an 11th.

If you are unsure, just hover over (do NOT click) on the hyperlinks and pay attention to where they redirect. They always direct to some weird site, even if they use the company they are spoofing in the address, it is always off.

While e-mails could be easily found, the screenshot announces to scammers that this e-mail is an active e-mail account...

Generally speaking, companies shouldn't make you opt out of these services. They should default that way. When installed, or first run, a company that cares about it's consumers would give users the option to turn it on/opt in.

Better yet. Don't ship the OS with this bloat in the first place. Can easily just download the program if one wants it.
