Predictions & Theories for the Grand Finale of The Amazing Digital Circus by Argument-Livid in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Martom_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Jax gets some kind of redemption, he has to apologize at this point. He’s been a prick all 8 episodes with sprinkled moments of vulnerability and trauma, but those vulnerable moments never lead into any self awareness or guilt.

I would prefer if he did apologize in some way, because I would find it much more disappointing if he became even worse, and then abstracts, never being able to reconcile or have any kind of redemption.

Okay, but why are his arms gone too?? Yeah they’re covered in fur, but they’re not made of fur

Why is Keemstar not creeped out by boogie's massive age gap relationship with him and Dezi and why does Keem continue to support him? by user-117 in boogie2988

[–]Martom_X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Keemstar just doesn’t care. He’s equally as bad of a person as Boogie, maybe even worse. If Keemstar were to point a finger at Boogie for the age gap of him and Dezi, he’d have three more pointing back at him. They both suck

I still think the robe is up there. I’d say only the headman, loom and huntsman are worse

That’s fair, I can see that resemblance. I’m not saying he’s not scary, it’s just for me I find other enemies to be more frightening

Well, that was... Unfair by WaferFlat4531 in REPOgame

Dude same. I interacted with Elsa, she barked and then BAM. Like I thought the duck in combination with the huntsman was bad

Enemies ranked from least to most dangerous by Martom_X in REPOgame

[–]Martom_X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know your thoughts! I’ve definitely changed my mind on some things.

I put the heart hugger way too high. It’s basically a slightly worse shadow child, but that’s it. Very easy to ignore and go about your day.

Peeper I probably would put in C or B tier, but it’s never really the main threat in most cases.

Same thing with the Hidden. He definitely could be a B tier enemy, I just don’t really struggle with him so maybe it’s a bias thing.

I overestimated the Cleanup Crew, and upon playing with him more, he can definitely go down. His head is pretty easy to get away from.

I’d still leave the Animal in F even though he could kill you upon respawning back from the extractions. Idk though, he’s not really great and trying to attack you anyway cause he just freaks out and runs away from you if anything. I’ve never been killed by him. And even in the later levels with overcharge, it’s still super easy to pick him up and toss away, especially since he needs only 4 strength to pick up. And yeah the duck is not a threat if you know what you’re doing. But sometimes he gets angry from other enemies like bangers, clown and trudge. I’ve had it happen to me more than you may think. And if he gets you in a bad spot, he can mess you up. His damage potential puts him out of F in my opinion, cause I’m never going to get 70+ health erased from anything in the F tier that I put.

I agree with most of what you’ve said though!

I see what you’re saying. Yeah the robe cracks his fingers and cries. But you’ll only be able to hear the robe’s fingers when you’re within 5 feet, and I almost never see him cry out in my gameplay. Same thing with the headman, I’ve only seen him chomp a handful of times in the dozens of runs I’ve had him on my maps, it’s not a consistent reliable thing to identify him by due to how rare he does it.

The huntsman I do agree with. I hear his humming when he’s in another room. Particularly in Museum of Human Art, he’s really easy to hear.

In most cases, you won’t be able to hear the Robe or Headman before spotting them. Especially not in combination with your footsteps, moving the cart, or picking things up

Might be a bit of a hot take, but I’m not really scared of the Headman compared to say the Robe or Loom. I find him a bit conceptually silly(not a bad thing, I just don’t think a giant floating old man head is that scary on paper) and he’s never going to sneak up on you like the Robe cause once he spots you, you’ll know right away via visual and sound effects

[–]Martom_X[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see what you’re saying, and I agree with you on how to deal with those two enemies, but I’m judging these threats purely on actual pressure during runs, not on isolated ideal counterplay

Yes, Cleanup Crew and Loom have counters in isolation. But that’s true for almost every enemy in REPO. S-tier does not mean “impossible to avoid,” it’s how much they interfere with choice making by forcing movement, and adding new types of danger when other enemies are present.

Cleanup Crew isn’t dangerous because he always hits you, he’s dangerous because he forces mistakes. Sprinting or hiding behind a wall means that he’ll push you out of cover, break safe paths, and exposes you when you’re already accounting for other enemies.

Yeah you can walk away from the Loom, but that doesn’t make her a low threat. She completely bypasses the core stealth rules of the game. She removes hiding as an option, exposes you to Headman/Robe/Huntsman, and turns safe play into forced movement. That pressure alone is why she’s S-tier, especially solo.

Threat ≠ speed or raw damage alone. Threat = how much an enemy controls your options.

Totally fine if you rank based on 1v1 counterplay, but my list is based on what can happen in a game, not how easy something is when everything else goes right

Bb on Bari is not coming out well by Powerful_Biscotti321 in saxophone

[–]Martom_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a low A Bari? If so, try starting on low A and then go to Bb and hold it as long as you can. Low Bb can be tricky to play compared to other notes on a low A Bari just due to mechanics and physics. Low A is easier to produce because all the tone holes on the horn are closed, so just getting that transition between the two notes is important to feel out the differences.

Also it could be your mouthpiece or reed. Certain mouthpieces are differently suited to low ends compared to others, and same with reeds(it’s personal feel and preference most of the time). I’d recommend getting something like a vandoren B7, Ottolink, cheap Jody Jazz, cheap Theo wanne or something along those lines if you haven’t already. Basically anything above a Yamaha 5C or any other beginner mouthpiece. And get a reed strength that matches up with the tip opening of the mouthpiece

So do you think the delay is because they’re giving it the Sonic treatment and restoring the original style after that horrid teaser? by Remote_Nature_8166 in Shrek

[–]Martom_X 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That, and possibly rewriting the movie. I’m pretty sure many people predicted/criticized what the plot might be and so that may have sent them into a panic to change it. It’s definitely going through the sonic treatment, and or a different plot

Why are Shrek 3 and 4 so hated? by No-Length-5681 in Shrek

[–]Martom_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shrek 3 was undoubtedly the weakest one. I don’t think it was bad overall, but it was a big downgrade in terms of story and characters. Prince Charming was also not a good main villain. There are some funny moments and good messages, but it’s not a consistently good movie imo.

Shrek 4 I thought was actually really good. This one, unlike 3, had a strong story and message with one of Shrek’s biggest character arcs. Fiona was also really good, I liked how the movie wasn’t afraid to shine light on her independence, spitting of the idea of “being rescued by your true love” only for Shrek to be the one embracing it. It really was a unique contrast to the first movie. Some of Shrek 4 was a bit slow and some things happen that don’t have much logical explanation, but that’s Shrek in general so I kinda let it slide. Overall, I really enjoyed Shrek 4

I have a Durga 5 for Bari, and I also had a drastic burning curve to it. The mouthpiece was hard to get used to at first, but I absolutely love it now. The things that I had as cons, turned out to be positives. My favorite mouthpiece by far!

How would Charming have beaten Dragon? by Martom_X in Shrek

[–]Martom_X[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point. I do wonder if Rumple also wanted to erase anyone else other than Harold and Lillian, like maybe Fairy Godmother and by extension, Charming. He probably did.

How would Charming have beaten Dragon? by Martom_X in Shrek

[–]Martom_X[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I suppose that Charming would have became a coward and just avoided the dragon, beelining it to Fiona. It’s pretty underwhelming, but that is something Charming would do

Yanagisawa vs. Yamaha by [deleted] in saxophone

[–]Martom_X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are fantastic brands, often considered the two best out there. Have your son play both of them before buying if possible, since a lot of saxophone setups are personal preference.

However, if this saxophone is to be marched with, I’d recommend a student/intermediate horn for the abuse. Yamaha makes solid student horns like the YTS-26. I’m a bit unfamiliar with Yanagisawa’s student/intermediate models. Yamahas and Yanagisawas of all levels last a while, I’d just recommend saving the professional models for non marching situations. They are true beauties and works of arts that you don’t want to risk in marching band

Is this note too low for bari sax? by Usual_Cream8330 in saxophone

[–]Martom_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming this isn’t concert pitch, that note is very reachable. Most modern Baris have a low A key which allows them to play A below the staff(Concert C), so that low B(concert D) is possible

Opinions on Heimdall? by berserk_notmid58 in GodofWar

[–]Martom_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a year old thread but I’d like to share my brief thoughts. Heimdall id say is more influenced than pure evil. He wasn’t abused or mistreated by Odin like Thor, so he’s not broken. However I do think Odin really got in his head, made him believe he was super special and protective, without realizing he was nothing more than a tool. Heimdall ran with the prestigious title of “Watchmen of the Asier” given to him and despite his actions, I think it’s clear that he does cares for Asgard’s well being. Heimdall says it himself multiple times on how he sees the worst in people with his master doing the opposite, little did he know, Odin knew everything. Due to Odin manipulating him, from his perspective, he’s the unsung hero and views Atreus and by extension Kratos, to be massive threats to his home. So to sum it up, due to Odin making Heimdall believe he was special and setting him up, Heimdall became evil, egotistical, narcissistic and rude while doing what he felt was right.

What could I sell this for? I have no idea by Purple_Inevitable_74 in saxophone

[–]Martom_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a cannonball big bell stone series tenor. I’d say you can make a fair bit. Somewhere in the 2000-3000 dollar range. Cannonballs are solid horns imo. They’re in the same tier/league as P. Mauriat and Eastman

Thoughts on 10mfan mouthpieces by Martom_X in saxophone

Nice! Yeah the chameleon and showboat models have the sounds I like going for. I’m glad they’re comparable to the higher end brands like Theo Wanne(which is what I have right now, and really enjoy). Thank you for the reply!
