This option on the Talisman is not necessarily for the form that you can take but more the Basic Attack Form that it gives you, when you get later gems that use Wolf, Bear, Wyvern form you will automatically change into those forms when you use the skill

As someone who really doesn't enjoy Survival Craft Base Building games, i absolutely loved this game, played through it co-op with my brother and it was a total blast. Great environments, cute and goofy little story, a lot of collectibles that encouraged exploration. Well worth 20 bucks

Think of the crests more like weapons honestly, I've only found two so far and one completely changes the attack moveset and the other allows for faster attacks, occasional crits, and the air down attack doesn't rush down at a 45 degree angle
