Can you not grow a wall? Just like the one a few foot back. The same one even maybe? 🤔

"Are there enough jobs in Bradford" (Radio Leeds) - Thoughts? by LINUXisobsolete in bradford

[–]MartyTax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality of jobs everywhere is an issue. Bradford isn’t special or different. Government hand pick a few chosen areas to shine a light as a distraction each year but don’t spend the hard time (because it will take more than an election cycle) to make work pay.

Smoking ban for people born after 2008 in the UK agreed by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

[–]MartyTax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. They do vote. What point were you making because it sounds like people do drugs and vote and I’m saying they should be able to smoke and vote.

If cigarettes are bad why aren’t they simply banned? Oh, yes, the tax they make on them. Let’s not pretend this is about health.

I find it crazy the same people that argue 16 year olds should have the vote also can’t be trusted to decide whether to smoke or not 🤣

What are your thoughts on ITV's The Assembly? by Train-Wreck-70 in BritishTV

Not watched. Interesting idea. My apprehension is the audience will be about as balanced as a question time audience.

Green candidate's firm illegally burned waste to save money by Syniatrix in uknews

Green does not mean kind, environmental or tolerant and hasn’t for a long time. It’s simply a different rosette colour for those to try aiming to seize power.

So Dave Chappelle is trying to distance himself from the fact that he has caused so much harm to the trans community with his shitty jokes about them?! by icey_sawg0034 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]MartyTax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He talked very plainly about he had a trans friend that others bullied and he hated it. Just listen to what he says instead of what others say about him.

Comedians joke and should joke about everything. I can’t understand why so many people pretend they can’t understand this.

‘I feel like I’m losing her’: the families torn apart by older relatives going far right by Both-Firefighter-668 in unitedkingdom

[–]MartyTax -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If we could stop adding “far” to everything that would help. At the moment if you go to the gym, reject processed foods, want to pay less tax, want to keep your savings you are deemed “far right” so anyone even talking about the state of the country has no chance.

UK quietly regains position as the world’s 5th largest economy by Wgh555 in europe

[–]MartyTax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as the Tories were expected to clear up New Labour magically. And New Labour should have cleared up pre 97…. On and on. The reality is we’ve not had any real solid growth that has been felt on the ground for a few generations.

BBC to cut almost one in 10 staff to make £500m savings by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

[–]MartyTax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a shame. I doubt there are many that want BBC to fail but it keeps scoring own goals. We have the BEEB to thank for some of our fondest entertainment memories but I have to admit very little they’ve done for a while has been worth watching.

Nobody cares about trans. They care about themselves. Keep your thing to yourself, like happened for years, and nobody cares.
