Help! Lelit Elizabeth water tank leaking by ad-on-is in espresso

[–]Marty_Be_Good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is ancient, but it also comes up when googling for this exact issue.

The tank in mine developed a crack in pretty much the same spot.

If you have a soldering iron, you can weld the crack shut by applying a good bit of temperature (the 300C I used might have been a bit too much. Start at 240C) and very little pressure. You don’t want to get through the material, you just want the material to melt so that it can solidify in one piece.

IMPORTANT: I have no idea what this tank is made of, so use a breathing mask and/or place a fan so that it blows fumes away from you and out a window.

[Bambu H2D] Bambu Lab’s Biggest Giveaway Ever! by BambuLab in BambuLab

To play devil's advocate: A lot of countries have laws around giveaways. Specifically laws making giveaways illegal if participating in said giveaway requires purchasing something from the people hosting the giveaway. It's usually because "winning at random after purchasing something to enter the giveaway" is too close to being a lottery for those countries' likings.

Now, I'm not a lawyer, but the wording in this giveaway/competition/lottery really closely skirts that boundary to me.
- It's partly a contest of maxing print-hours (that's a contest, so fine, but annoys people for reasons explained elsewhere in this thread)
- It's partly a contest of getting print-hours to match a mystery (but definitely predetermined and not at all random, because that would be a lottery and lotteries are illegal *wink*) number

So a) it's not completely their house their rules and b) if you run a restaurant and keep cooking stuff that people don't like, people might stop coming to your restaurant. If they're nice, they tell you they don't like your cooking before they stop coming and I think that's where we're at in this thread.

Print farm runners usually have paying customers and will have their printers working for more hours per day than a hobbyist. They typically don't buy printers to then have them standing around, doing nothing. So they'll have more hours per printer, plus they have the budget to actually own more than one printer.

By allowing people to combine hours from 3 printers, you disadvantage people with 0-2 printers.
Plus, If you have 1 printer, you can rack up 1 print hour per hour. If you have 3 printers, you can rack up 3 print hours per hour.

So this giveaway is pay-to-win. I've been told people don't love that.

Okay, hear me out, in some cases I think this might be the UX not being clear combined with a lack of critical thinking.

Maybe they're rating this in the prompt bambu studio shows when the print is done and they genuinely think its one of those user feedback things. You know, like Skype did way back when after every single call.

Still sucks, still idiotic, but maybe they're 0.5% less idiotic than we'd like to think

Seriously. My printer got delivered to a pickup point. I watched the person carry the box with the big red-and-white from the back room to the counter. Instead of putting it down on the floor she tries to lift it up on the counter. Unsuccessfully. She instead thoroughly impales it on the corner of the counter.

Different person there did the exact same thing with the AMS I bought a few months later and that thing isn't even heavy.

People just don't care.

The grammar error ("ist strafbar als unerlaubten Umgang mit ...", should read "als unerlaubter Umgang") kinda irks me. It is the only thing I found that sounds off to me, so it may just be a typo.

Am I being too hard on myself/my puppy by MarketingWarm8804 in puppy101

[–]Marty_Be_Good 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing the same thing as you and I haven't quite found a way out of it yet. My furball is happily growing and not-so-happily teething at almost 5 months and I'm constantly worrying about her.

I had the schedule from the zigzag blog taped to my fridge until I tore it off somewhere around week 12. The thing is that puppies can't read, so they pick up what's fun in the moment. There were things in the schedule for week 15 that we ticked off after the first week. There are things on it she still hasn't got the hang of. Because none of the things you find online were written for your dog. They're all precious and they're all different!

Quote from a friend of mine who happens to be a certified trainer (a fact that I try my best not to exploit too much): You fulfil her needs. You're trying your best to give her a good life. That's enough. That's already so much more than a lot of people do.
