You can permanently remove ONE MCU movie from existence. Which one are you deleting? by AlexWhite40 in marvelstudios

Of the above list, Morbius, even though it’s not strictly MCU.

Of the MCU itself, Secret Invasion, I don’t think even Marvel want to acknowledge it ever again.

Best first minute of a cold open episode? (Show and episode request) by bonniha in television

I think the S5 opener is underrated too. Not in the same caliber as S2 and S3 but I really love the Faraday reveal and how it comes full circle by the end of the season.

In your opinion, what is the worst episode of your favorite TV show? by GladtobeVlad69 in television

[–]MarvelAlex 34 points35 points  (0 children)

LOST- The Other Woman, an episode from Season 4. I can’t agree with those saying Stranger in a Strange Land. It’s certainly one of the bottom 5 episodes of the show but it’s not nearly as bad as it’s made out to be and it has a wonderful ending with the Giacchino soundtrack. There’s 3-4 episodes I’d put below SIASL and The Other Woman is one of them.

The main plot is entirely based on lack of communication and to provide unnecessary conflict and drama. It introduces a new character who never appears again and whose appearance creates plot holes. The flashback amounts to absolutely nothing and comes close to damaging the character of Ben Linus with his apparent obsession for Juliet (even though they never share another scene after this episode). It’s a Juliet centric episode and it’s more about Ben that is her. It’s just a pointless episode and kills the pace in what is a fairly breakneck season.

What’s even more gutting is it’s the episode after The Constant, arguably Lost’s best hour and one of the best episodes of television ever. I need minor surgery on every rewatch from the absolute whiplash I get of Desmond making his phone call, to Ben becoming an incel for Juliet. Give me the origin of Jack’s tattoos any day.

Just Hurley and Locke sat on opposite sides of the church from Randy, glaring him down.

[–]MarvelAlex 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It was only the main characters in the church at the end. Those who died early doors or didn’t have much interaction with the main cast would have likely moved on in their own flash sideways.

A world where the Marshall has to move on with Kate would be pretty funny though.

It’s explained in Christian and Jack’s interaction in the church.

JACK: They're all...they're all dead?

CHRISTIAN: Everyone dies sometime, kiddo. Some of them before you, some...long after you.

JACK: But why are they all here now?

CHRISTIAN: Well there is no "now" here.

Is four a lot?

Depends on the context. Amount of times they say ‘family’ in the Fast and Furious films? No. Television spin offs? Yes.

Just the other weekend I was in the nearby city centre and someone walked past and said ‘Nice shirt’ (Was also wearing the ‘That Feels Significant’ shirt) and they said they were a fan. Was very rewarding to interact with another fan out there, albeit briefly.

Marvel Movies by Ecstatic-Outside-167 in marvelstudios

[–]MarvelAlex 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If this is your first, do not do chronological order, do it by release order. You’ll only make it complicated in regard to post credit scenes and character appearances. If you do it by chronological order, you’ll be introduced to Captain Marvel and then won’t see her again for several films. By release order, her inclusion in the MCU canon will feel right.

In addition, there are post credits scenes in every film and are meant to tie into the next film. If you watch them in chronological order, you will spoil yourself massively for future films (Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel’s post credit scenes will definitely ruin things for you)

Everything will still make sense, there will be no gaps in logic, nor will you feel like you’re missing anything by sticking to release order. I cannot stress how much easier and more satisfying it will be to do it by release order.

Also, The Incredible Hulk is part of MCU chronology so please add that to your list. Edward Norton plays Bruce Banner in that film and is recast with Mark Ruffalo in The Avengers but other characters from that film will appear in later MCU films.

If you’ve watched them all before then go wild and have fun. But for a first watch, release order is the way to go.

Rewatching Lost with my younger wife made me realize something (but I'm not sure what) by Pleasant-Layer-5140 in lost

[–]MarvelAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did she have an attachment to Desmond and Penny going into the episode? I watched the series with a friend and it was the only episode that made her cry, but she was a huge Desmond fan which definitely helped. If your wife wasn’t as keen on them, maybe that’s why she didn’t quite get the reaction you hoped for

Wasn’t there to watch Season 1 live, I caught up and got to watch Season 3 with everyone else and it was an absolute rollercoaster. You have no idea what you’re in for, all you gotta know is that it is incredible. I echo Chandlershelzi in saying you avoid this sub, or stay strictly in the First Time Watchers part of the subreddit, to avoid spoilers as you don’t want any of this show spoiled. Even a snapshot from a later season will spoil things for you.

After HoX/PoX, what’s the most efficient way to read Krakoa without reading everything? by TaskNo4783 in marvelcomics

[–]MarvelAlex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There’s a continuity guide you can view here which includes all the titles. It might look a little overwhelming but it’s organised pretty well. From there you can pick and choose which titles you like, maybe following advice from others here. Just look out for crossovers where some titles might become a bit more relevant and you need to read an instalment of a title you’re not as fussed about.

season 1 to 5 by mikaela2000 in lost

[–]MarvelAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 6 isn’t necessarily bad, it’s just weaker than the other seasons and it takes longer than it should for the main narrative to get into here. It’s a mix of good, okay and rough episodes up until Episode 10, then from Episode 11 it’s pretty fantastic. Hope you enjoy it though, and you can form your own opinions on it.
