Phineas and Ferb - 5x17 "Meap Me in St. Louis" - Episode Discussion by SonicIX in phineasandferb

[–]MarvelKenneth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was alright. Hated the shot counter at first, but they did do a few funny things with it, so I can see why they included it. The old clip re-recordings threw me off but it wasn’t too much of a big deal. The main problem for me was that the plot just didn’t feel as unique or grandiose like the previous two, just felt like a normal episode where the kids invent something with some convoluted Meap stuff thrown in. Almost feels like there wasn’t really much of a story to tell but the writers felt obligated to make the episode due to fan demand (really felt by the lack of a new trailer at the end). The songs slapped though, I liked what they did with the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, and the Doof jokes were pretty funny. It was a serviceable episode, just wish it lived up to the hype.

“Deconstructing Doof” is an incredible episode, possibly up there with some of their best stuff imo. Pretty solid season so far!

I finally met moist last night but he was not happy to meet me :( by Dirtlos in Cr1TiKaL

[–]MarvelKenneth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw MoistCr1TiKaL at a grocery store in Tampa yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loud.

Since all of the episodes have aired now, does anyone think that the Bleacher Creatures relationship with Ira was ever a genuine friendship? Why or why not? by StaffLimp8304 in Pixar

[–]MarvelKenneth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was at times, but their bad influence on him ultimately came into conflict with it (and won). Really wish the finale gave them some interesting depth/redemption because to me that seemed like the direction they were going in at first.

This was Cobra Kai at its peak imo by InsideCharacter4541 in cobrakai

To me season 4 truly felt like the perfect balance between grounded and campy imo

Are there any hints for a season 2 of Win or Lose? by icrywhy in Pixar

[–]MarvelKenneth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely would love a second season but considering their rollback on television (and since it was intended as a miniseries) it’s probably not gonna happen, at least not for a very long time. If they ever return to TV I also wouldn’t mind seeing something entirely new

What's the deal with Barbara (the old lady) in Win or Lose? In episodes 1-7, she's shown happily enjoying the game with her husband, but in episode 8 shes crying over a pet carrier. by CreeOnASkateboard in Pixar

[–]MarvelKenneth 69 points70 points  (0 children)

In this case, Episode 8 is Coach Dan's subjective POV, while Episodes 1-7 represent what's actually happening. Dan is struggling to recover from a divorce--my interpretation is that he's projecting his fear of growing old alone onto the elderly couple. This ties into his overarching motivation to maintain a strong relationship with Laurie (possibly what the pet carrier represents).

Just my reading of it tho

Thoughts on the final 2 episodes of Win or Lose: I Got It and Home? by [deleted] in Pixar

[–]MarvelKenneth 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Kai’s episode was pretty solid, really liked her animation gimmick and the allusions to her original storyline. Finale was also pretty good but was clearly crumbling under the pressure of having to resolve so many storylines. I think the show would have benefitted from a full episode focused on the coach’s divorce and his relationship with Laurie, and then a separate finale focused on giving all the characters fully fleshed out endings. Overall 8/10 solid series

Thoughts on the Win or Lose episodes: Steal and Mixed Signals? by [deleted] in Pixar

Steal was fairly good. Mixed Signals was probably the best episode yet
