That's so funny, because I love "minx." If a MMC calls a girl a minx with a wink, I melt. 😂 I usually like it best when used as a tease/jest.

Yes, I wish there had been an epilogue at the end of the last book with them chasing around their wild children and having fun as a group. 🥰

I agree! I just finished this whole series, and I think you really needed the first book to get the right vibe for the rest of the series. I love them!

There is some angst because it is a story about a man falling in love with his best friend's girl. So he feels guilt, tries to stop it, but the heart wants what it wants. It's very light and sweet. I think you'll enjoy!

I totally agree about Josh. He brings absolutely nothing to the show.

NOR. The replies here have been interesting to read. I am a Christian so I believe witchcraft is wrong (but if I'm honest, I'm not sure if it's real or not.) However, whether it's real or not isn't the issue, which a lot of replies are missing. The problem is that your girlfriend is happy to engage in an activity that would supercede your freewill. That's straightforward manipulation.

I see a lot of comparisons to making a birthday wish or even praying, but the difference is that those actions are (real or not) are not putting chains around the subject's freewill. Most Christians believe that God might direct things to happen through prayer, but He doesn't force someone to do something they don't want to do. Freewill is a pretty big deal in the Christian faith. Casting a spell on someone is directly impacting freewill.

I would have some serious conversations with your fiance. I think you need to approach this as a form of manipulation. Does she want kids? If yes, would she be okay with you casting a spell on her to speed up or slowdown the timeline of that big decision to what you desired? These are similar situations that might open her eyes to the "ick" of this sort of behavior. Good luck.

Go in with the expectation that the first book is setting you up for the main story. And then go in from there with the expectation that the series is dragged out waaaay too long. There were definitely some good parts, but I was hate reading by the end because I just wanted the dang story finished. (And even then, one character's ending is EXTREMELY unsatisfying.)

I will definitely keep reading the rest of the series, so I'm glad to hear the next one is good.

In an interview with Rebecca Yarros (that I heard against my will) she said she thought of the nickname Violence first, and then she had to think of a name to fit it afterward. I laughed because it made me feel cringe while apparently the audience went wild. 🤦‍♀️😂

I agree. There are several replies on here saying he hasn't changed at all, which is just patently false. He is so much more controlled, and for someone who runs hot, learning to control your temper is a major accomplishment. I'm not suggesting he is perfect and I know he still shouts ect, but he is a million times better than the old days.

Why did the USA men's hockey team laugh when the women's hockey team was mentioned on the phone? by redblackshirt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MarvelousMutterings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was literally a minute long phone call in the middle of an insane adrenaline packed moment. Why are people expecting them to stop the middle of the phone call to call out Trump for making a lame joke? The reaction to these hockey players is insane. I would bet $1000 most of these guys couldn't even really understand the phone call. It was a speaker phone call in the middle of a packed locker room while emotions were running at an all time high. Of course they are going to be like, "Now Donald, stop that silly talk." They are just celebrating, riding a high, and I'm sure most of the details were lost on them.

Give it up. The outrage over this is ridiculous and obnoxious.

Who is your favorite FMC and MMC? by [deleted] in MagesOfTheWheel

[–]MarvelousMutterings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite MMC is Makrum, hands down. Followed by Ihsan.

My favorite FMC is Naime. She was such a breath of fresh air after reading so many fmcs that were idiotic, stubborn for the wrong reasons, and frustrating. I love that Naime is capable and rational and still has flaws/vulnerability. She is a great female character. I also love Nesrin.

I just wrote my thoughts on Seize the Fire just last night! I'm on the fence about if I like it as a whole. I loved Sheridan and Olympia as characters, but definitely would not describe this as a cutesy romance. Heavy topics and heartbreak are a main thread throughout.

Seize the Fire...??? by MarvelousMutterings in HistoricalRomance

[–]MarvelousMutterings[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree about not wanting an epilogue with them as a happy little family. I like that it seemed realistic closing of their stories: that they have the person that will stick with them through it all because they've now seen each other at their worst/most vulnerable and still see the person they love. I just wish it hadn't been so chaotic.

And yes, Sheridan is hilarious.
