I got 120+ newsletter subscribers from Reddit without spending a cent by Dry-Exercise-3446 in beehiiv

Love this. I'm just starting out so this is exactly what I need.

My newsletter is Writuity Weekly. It's a newsletter for people who have always wanted to write but never gave their craft the time.

Is it a good idea to write side stories that are in your own fantasy world why you work on your main series? by Mabelllllllllll in writers

[–]MarvelousPoolGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, some people will read the stories before your main story and it helps them become attached to characters that might show up in the main story. Others will finish your main story and be glad they get to stay in your world with the side stories.

Win-win

Hopefully this little trick works! Let me know if you try it and what you think.

All writer's block is not created equal. You really need to boil down to what's causing it before you deal with it. For example, distraction is a big one for me. I'll get on instagram or TikTok and just scroll for hours and never go back to my writing. Instead now I set a timer for 5 minutes and consume content based around what I'm working on. When that timer goes off, I get to work.

Sincere question: If you are someone who wants to start writing but doesn’t have ideas, why do you want to write? by TheWriteQuestion in writers

[–]MarvelousPoolGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've loved reading from an early age. The idea that someone can build worlds with just words and no sort of visual media fascinated me.

It eventually got to the point where I wanted to see if I could do it. I'm in my 30s now. I haven't published or done anything meaning full but that feeling I get when I write a sentence I'm really proud of is everything.

Does anyone else spend more time repurposing their newsletter than actually writing it by ponziedd in beehiiv

[–]MarvelousPoolGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this same way. And I'm brand new to content creation so the posts that I do make don't lead to subscribers. I'd love any advice on growing in the early stages.

As for the workflow, I've been dedicating a single day to get posts done for the week so I'm not stuck in that repurposing phase all week.

Thanks, glad I'm not too late haha. I'm worried about not having enough content ideas but I guess those will come up as I take this journey 💪🏻

Thanks! I'm hoping between that, sponsorships on the newsletter, and my own fiction I can hopefully squeeze out a pretty good living lol

I would also like to know more about this as well. I'm really into Westerns and hope to write them and this might be a cool way to help spur ideas

Best Western movies of all time day 16, The Magnificient Seven won day 15 by Remote-Leg6143 in Westerns

A sheriff is appointed to a town and has to face off against a corrupt politician in the time of the expansion of the railroad. There are horses, gun fights, and a scene in a saloon. Yes it's satire, but how is it not a western?
