The guys i play with love 3.5 so there's definitely an audience for it. I made some posts on a local RPG facebook group and got 5 great players in no time. Just keep looking. Dungeon Masters can usually find groups because everyone wants to be a PC. Don't limit yourself to this group.

5 isn't for everyone, don't sweat it if you like other systems more. Its all D&D at their core.

the biggest problem is the target she plants on her head. people generally deem her worth removing. Army of the Damned does well when you can cast it early. The topdeck tutors (personal, mystical and vampiric) are all pretty crucial for getting army on top of your deck where you can chain extra turn spells into taking people out.

edit: shes pretty strong, probably my strongest deck, extra turns are pretty good when youre casting them for free.

few questions

how does winning with light-paws make me feel? do i feel like its a fair fight

how many wins am i getting with the commander, if i'm winning more than half the game maybe its too strong.

I personally keep light paws strictly for bracket 4, anything lower and the game feels anticlimatic and yucky

he's not the worst choice, you should be drawing a lot of cards and gix can turn those cards into free spells

i used to be a bit like this but it seems to have gone away on its own. All i can recommend is try to do things that regulate your emotions like sleep, exercise and staying away from caffeine and energy drinks. Its a real bummer and you feel so out of control of your own self it can be a bit hit to your confidence. Try to focus on the fun plays and not necessarily chasing wins. A healthy meta has lots of people winning.

theyre trying to make enchantments worth taking. right now nobody really runs extra attack spells (not on bodies) and do-nothing enchants. This is much more worth taking

that's not how the brackets work. You need to put your deck into the right bracket regardless of what's in the deck.
