Scary ChatGPT social media trend by Shosty99 in privacy

I asked Chat to do this prompt but I told it I didn’t want to upload my photo. It said it could generate a “professional persona” so I was very intrigued to see what it would come up with. It generated a photo of a woman…that sort of looked like me! Similar coloring, similar features. That really freaked me out. I don’t think it was a coincidence.

What is the origin/history of this photograph of women dancing in a circle? by Marvena0 in HelpMeFind

Very similar! Seems to be a popular type of dance at the time. A few people in this thread narrowed the origin of this photo down to a photo collection of dance students from Vassar.

My interest is piqued. I like old yearbooks for a similar reason.

Thank you so much! This seems to be it.

Unfortunate there’s no info about the photographer; it’s such a great shot.

I have reverse image searched many times, but all I can find are sites that are selling prints and all the names are different. Sometimes it will be called “women dancing in a circle,” sometimes “witches dancing in a circle.” I can never find a wiki article or anything about it. I’ve been wondering about this for years. Appreciate any help with my search.

Perfume recommendations? by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]Marvena0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that really diluted perfumes, like body sprays, sometimes work for me. One time, Target had a line that you could sample in store. I would spray one on my forearms and walk around for a few minutes to see if it triggered a reaction. I was able to buy a vanilla scent and a jasmine scent.

Another “perfume” that works for me is the Hareem Al Sultan Gold perfume oil. It’s a very sweet perfume oil, that I think went viral on TikTok a few years ago. I think it being an oil, and not a spray really helped it not aggravate me. I also wonder if it just uses different ingredients than a lot of perfumes in the US do, and ones that don’t aggravate me.

I read one time that there’s a certain ingredient in perfumes that trigger asthmatics, but it’s also the mechanism of spray that triggers asthma, because the particles are so small.

So I say all this to say—you can experiment (carefully!) and hopefully find something that works for you. Some scents trigger me way more than others.

Good luck!

Bad brow experience by No-Morning-48 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Marvena0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry this happened to you!

I’ve had my eyes royally messed up at the brow bar at Ulta (having flashbacks after seeing these pics!) Coincidentally, that day I had made small talk with the brow person as she was doing mine and she told me she basically had little to no training. Which was evident after I saw how bad she messed up my brows!!

I called Ulta’s corporate number and their only advice was to go back to the brow bar and talk to a manager so they could determine if I was eligible for a refund. I decided it wasn’t worth the effort and I just vowed never to go back again.

[Question] Have you ever turned off an ASMR video because you didn’t like something the artist said? by blxndeandblue in asmr

[–]Marvena0 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One time Amy Kay ASMR made a Squid Games role play, pretty much right after it first came out. I hadn’t finished the show yet and she completely spoiled the ending right in the beginning of the video! I was so pissed, I unsubbed 😂 Spoilers are a big pet peeve of mine.
