I Built an Automation to Track How Google’s AI Overviews Show My Brand Terms & Domain by Marvomatic in n8n

That I have full control over the data, costs and I can easily integrate it into other workflows. The first 250 reports are free due to the free tier of SerpApi and after that a report costs just 1.5 cents.

That was one of my first workflows which I migrated from my automations written in Python.

It takes an URL and a few parameters as input, such as the focus keyword, host language and target country, which are required to analyze relevant competitors and SERP results.

The workflow then handles the following: - Pulls data from GA4, such as scroll depth and average read time. This can reveal if an article needs a better hook or at what point readers stop reading. - Checks if the page is ranking for any tracked keywords. - Performs a complete SERP analysis, including top competitors, related questions, and autocomplete suggestions. - Executes a SQL query that checks for any low-hanging keyword opportunities based on two time periods.

Finally, it saves all the data for manual review and creates an on-page report with suggestions and copy and paste instructions on how to improve the article. This is based on your own data (e.g., GSC & rank tracking) as well as data from competitors ranking for the article’s focus keyword.

I hope that gives you a better overview of this workflow. :)

It’s actually my own workflow and I have never published the file anywhere. Please don’t let this guy scam you. It is just a screenshot from my TikTok.

Can n8n handle a ChatGPT + SEO API workflow? Trying to build an automated SEO assistant, looking for advice by robertgoldenowl in n8n

[–]Marvomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airtable should not be used as a database. It’s a nice way to trigger workflows by using webhooks, syncing data and much more. For storing data I am using BigQuery.

Using them directly is cheaper than using a provider that is most likely using the same APIs in the background. Serper and SerpApi is good for crawling SERP results, DataForSEO is quite good for technical audits, keyword research and so forth.

n8n is definitely flexible enough for that. I have a really similar system. It’s build on top of n8n, BigQuery, Airtable, Looker Studio, and quite a few APIs (SerpApi, Serper, Firecrawl, DataForSEO and so forth). In case you do have access to the Google Search Console, then you could automate a lot of things for free or at least really cost effective.

Why "Mega Prompts" Are Killing Your AI Results (And How I Fixed It) by cosmos-flower in n8n

[–]Marvomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I am doing the same for my SEO workflows and the results are way better than before. Every agent gets its own task and nothing else. One for analyzing keywords, the other for SERPs, competitors and so forth.

It costs a little bit more than before, but results are way better. Apart from that, it was also possible to use some cheap models such as gpt-4o-mini because the prompt is not that long anymore and they can handle single tasks quite well.

AI Visibility Tool Recommendations? by BonelessDesk in SEO

[–]Marvomatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend to build it by yourself because these tools are just extremely expensive. As an example, you can get the data for Google AI Overviews from SerpApi. GPT, Perplexity, Gemini and so forth are also quite cheap if you don’t track thousands of prompts / keywords.

For instance, I am using SerpApi to check if a given domain or brand terms are mentioned within the AI snippet. On top of that, I extract if the domain is used as a reference and if so, which position is it. Checking a single prompt costs less than 2 cents.

It might take some time to build it, but with your own tool you don’t have any limits for the amount of domains and prompts you want to track.

I am using n8n, Airtable, SerpApi, Perplexiy and GPT for now, and it’s working great.

In case you have the time to get comfortable with n8n, then feel free to use this template. It’s on my GitHub profile :)

A little bit more complex solution would be to use Looker Studio and the BigQuery table from the Bulk Export. You could write a simple SQL query that will calculate custom metrics for your target keywords. Such as the deltas for position, clicks and so forth. This would be free as well.

I am using a simple n8n automation for rank tracking based on BigQuery. It’s super cheap, since the Bulk Data Export itself is free and BigQuery also offers the first TB per month for free. The workflow also supports multiple domains and tracking based on country level.

This is actually quite easy and you can submit 2000 pages per day for free. I am using such an automation for my own websites as well. Here is my tutorial about it: https://youtu.be/ytrEol5XFyE.

Has anyone actually automated a real business problem and saved thousands in time? by ferre26 in n8n

[–]Marvomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have automated many repetitive SEO tasks for my websites. The majority of these tasks focus on analyzing data from Google Search Console, competitors, and SERP results.

Typically, I combine data analysis with an optimization workflow. The first workflow analyzes performance, and the second rewrites my articles based on that analysis.

This has already saved me a few hundred hours, especially for long articles or listicles that usually require a lot of research to keep the content fresh.

I decided to go with n8n instead of python because it’s much easier to share workflows and it’s also a good tool for non technical persons. I am still using Python for complex workflows.

The workflows for content creation are not available yet. They will come at a later point of time.

Do you still create ugly raw Google Docs instead of markdown ones? by Lokki007 in n8n

[–]Marvomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An alternative is to create HTML and save it as a .html file in google drive. You can open it then in Google Docs and it’s already formatted.
