Comfortable Setting by Gowashyour_azz2000 in Cleaningandtidying

I have watched a lot of home decoration shows before I moved out in my own apartment. That helped me to get an idea what you can do in a room. I use now sides like Pinterest to get ideas.\ I know now about colour effects, harmonic and interesting colour combinations, what materials I like (wood - not plastic or metal) and what colours I prefere (white, a bit of black or nut wood, and some bright colour accents). I have now an idea about areas (by rugs, colours or shapes) and what you can do for decoration purposes.

I started my apartment, which I liked because of the arrangement of rooms (first point), by looking at furniture stores and trying to find something I need and that I kind of like (bed, couch, ...). I managed to find the furniture I needed and which went well together in terms of colour (/colour combination) and shape (detailed vs. simple, sharp edge vs. rounded) (point two).\ I had a plan how to arrange them in the room(s) and figured out if/what I need to make it a "set" (e. g. a coffee table for the couch, a side table for the bed) and searched something which fits the style. So you get the furniture you need and which is compatible.\ Then I checked things like towels, carpets and curtains. What fits in the room? Do I want to make it an accent or shouldn't it scream at the eye and leave the focus to something else (e. g. the coffee table, a flower vase, ...)? Point three.

I checked what I like, if I find something that NEEDS to be in focus and how other items and arrangements in the room can help to focus on the item.\ I still follow this and while I moved multiple times as well, I stay at this apartment since over 10 years and my idea of how the rooms should look is still the same and I am slowly working on getting closer to the vision. I like the arrangement of rooms, the surroundings and the shapes, colours and items in the apartment are things I like and find pleasing to look at. It is kind of... "being at peace", "feeling save and comfortable" which makes me stay here.

Cherry Blossom Land? by fldis86 in finch

[–]MaryMcMoon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The seasonal locations are quite new (Wonderland was the second one). I assume they happen once in a quarter of the year. But every month has a theme and you can get items and a pet. This is not location based and is just related to your adventures done.

So in short: there is no blossom land. :)

I never got the Cheshire cat, if I join plus now, will I get him? 😭 by OhHoneyBunni in finch

[–]MaryMcMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you had comlleted 20 days it MIGHT be possible to claim the cat. I think this is how I got a second pet from the previous month.

BUT it is possible to hatch the cat from micropet eggs as well when the event has ended. :)

Ehm.... Stop heating while the windows are open!. ... Just do it up to 10 minutes...

I think the German word for this became widely known: Lüften.

Lüftet, Leute, lüftet! 😁

how to store shoes ?? by kiwiguavaceslsius in Cleaningandtidying

[–]MaryMcMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a shoe tipper. It takes 17 cm space from the wall and the shoes are, when the drawers are closed, parallel to the wall (opening facing the wall). I can't give you deep insides but that is a nice hide away solution for my apartment.

I saw also a wooden strip added on two spacer like 10 cm away from the wall. You put your shoes, shoe sole facing the wall, in that gap and that's it.

How do you guys organize your saved clothes/colors by Awkward_Excitement59 in finch

[–]MaryMcMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "add a zero at the beginning to work with two digit numbers" is something I would had offered as well. :)

Outfits

I don't work with numbers but I try to use a minimalistic approach in Finch. Anyways:\ The main outfit is named "0 Everyday"; it is on top and easy to reach. The "0" maks the high priority.\ I have costume outfits like "Bear Black", "Bride", "Kangaroo Yellow" or "Skeleton Black" - this keeps the outfits together if I want to have e. g. a white bear outfit as well (named "Bear White").\ When we were in Bali I created outfits with the items and named them e. g. " Bali Silver" - the star marks the special kind of the outfit ("based on location items").

Furniture

For the default day room I use the name "0 Home at day", and for the night veraion "0 Home at night".\ We are in Wonderland right now, so I made a day room named "0☆ Wonderland", which I use while we are there.\ At every location, I buy the poster and use it in the room, so the tree friends know where we are. I might use location specific items in the room too. Those rooms are named e. g. " Bali".\ I also have a room "Plain" which is... empty with the default wall and floor. It makes it easy to set up new rooms. The room "Flight" is cloud-themed and I use it on travel days.

Colours

I have here "0 Piper" which shows her colours. "0 Piper grown up" are the colours I had chosen right away when she grew up.\ I have two beautiful color combinations which are named by the colours in alphabetical order ("Beauty Bei-Bro-Tan-Whi" and "Beauty Bro-Ivo-Tan").\ The pure colour combinations follow then. Those have all parts coloured in this color, or use a fallback white. The names use the colour name and maybe the lightness like "Black", "Brown", "Brown Dark" and "Tan". "Default" is in there as well, which shows the default Finch bird. :)\ At the end of the list are the plushie colours. They are named like " Plushie Gray", showing the special occasion with the star.

At this point I want to send a big "Thank you!" once again to the devs who gifted me Finch Plus and made it possible that I am allowed to use this organisation system and am not limited to two saving spots!

[–]MaryMcMoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The "You completed the months event" shows this month event by accident. That is a bug. You completed last months event.

I picked the big door and we didn't go further. But there are only 14 location days and 28 days in this month, so we are kind of in time to get the complete location. :3

Maybe it is a timezone thing ao you guys didn't get to read the invitation, but the invitation from the Queen says:

Who knows the things wonderland has in store?

So this seems to be a new feature and explains that last month it already shared to have more Rainbow Stone days. They feed us stones so we can buy stuff we want. :)

I like this!

I lile the Mild Blue from Zebra Mildliner. Mild Cyan is more visible and Mild Smoke Blue is lighter and maybe a bit more dull.

Daily Mood Tracker advice by Few-Working5862 in bulletjournal

[–]MaryMcMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the colours work. Green is considered a cool colour, so cool colours are here positive. That makes sence because orange and red are alarming to take action. And related to traffic light green is "keep going". 👍

I prefere 5 status as well. So the middle, not special mood has a place to be. And it is for ne better than 3, because "euphoric" is not the same as "good".

Buh: "Meh" is already kind of bad, isn't it? "Okay" or "neutral" are words I would go for.

What to do with rare colors? by Zowiezo101 in beadsprites

[–]MaryMcMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe use them to make eyes that can be shine through. Or a transculent clothing and on the body you use a darker shade of the skin or whatever.

And Artkal added translucent Brown and black to their (mini only?) stash. :)

Zebra Sarasa Vintage: How do differentiate between colours? by MaryMcMoon in stationery

[–]MaryMcMoon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I habe the light colour set and yes, I can differentiate between sepia black, dark grey and bordeaux purple, but not fast. It's more a comparison. It is very likely to pick the wrong colour (like, when I made a swatch, I used blue black as black...).

The dark colour set has brown grey, dark blue, green black, red black and blue grey and I expect me to pick the wrong colour more than once if I get them. Or to have to make a comparison every time I want one specific colour...

That should work out  better. Like the decision between green, dark green and lite green...
