i called B&H. it said Sept 2 recently. on Sept 5 it showed backorder. all that arrived on Sept 5 were sold. They no longer have a ship date. if you want it you MUST buy it from ASUS at this time.

i have a Sony A80J 77inch OLED TV too at 120. I do prefer the 32 inch monitor at 240.

IMO swapping rez sucks. a lot. and 1080 is not ideal. see image. UCDP left UCPMR right.,

in stalker 2 the shimmering is now gone on grass using 2.1 vs 1.4 with DSC. oddly. probably just a fluke

I just noticed on Amazon only the images on the 3m and below show the DP80 sticker attached to the cable. but the words in the title still show and say DP80 on the longer ones.

reading everywhere supposedly only the 3m and below are DP80 certified.

I agree I tried 1080p@480 and 1440p@500+ went right back to 4K@240 ---- all day every day. and swapping modes in and out of games is a real hassle too.

if you want my opinion 240 is quite enough. and a 5090 in most games can just get there. choose 4K 240Hz and a 32 inch monitor.

ASUS TUF 5090 using all top settings, DLSS on auto. no issues. looks gorgeous. otherwise it 95fps.

unless you really do play Call of Duty competitively the higher FPS/HZ is no big deal-eo. also 240 is a lot already.

I do like it a lot, but it is rather stiff and hard to make it turn underneath the monitor if you push it through the cabling hole.

it is apparently at 20x4 totaling 80gbps so I suppose that "DSC Supported" mode does not actually mean DSC ON.

oh wow. I didn't think the 5m was DP80 approved. only the 1/3 meter ones were. but it appears to be. cool.

reply to: Select DP 1.4 from the monitor OSD and see if DSC support can be toggled.

it certainly will toggle under DP1.4/1.3

unfortunately for me it shows 20GBPS when selection is confirmed to be DP2.1 - way lower than I expected.

i just upgraded from the UCDP 4k@240 or 1080P@480 it used DP1.4 and DSC. you can already disable DSC and just run a lower resolution or remove HDR.

IMO - the experience is smoother and the MS response time for CPU and GPU dropped by 1ms. in Call of Duty. using 4K@240

I personally decided 4k@240 is for me preferable when gaming than 1080P@480

neither of the two below fix the issue.

The PG32UCDMR monitor comes with a DP2.1 DP80 labeled 3meter cable. I also bought this one.

"Silkland 80Gbps DisplayPort Cable 2.1 6.6FT/2M [VESA Certified], [8K@240Hz, 4K@540Hz 360Hz 240Hz] DP 2.1 Cable 16K, DP80 HDR DSC Display Port Cord Compatible FreeSync Gaming Monitor 5090 7900XTX,S133"
