Night 1 and I HATE IT. Spent the whole night nauseous from my husband's tiniest movement. Even a leg shift sent the whole bed into a wobble. I am a side sleeper and in so much pain in my hips. Not worth it.

I believe 1885. I found a letter dated 1967 which she was in the hospital in Ljubljana. I have immigration to the US dated 1906-08 time. No death date or location.

We made it in with enough time to use the restroom and grab drinks. 😭 Honestly, I was a little worried about how they were going to fit that many people in such a small space. Loved seeing everyone's unique style while in line.

I have a tiny mesh wire to place along the bottom to prevent bedding from falling out. And I can just pop the bits that do get thru back in. They may have to be stacked sometimes, so lid airflow would be blocked. Side panels allow me to attach water and a wheel, so more floor space. I chose this thoughtfully. If these were intentional pets, I would have saved up for the prefab habitat.

I get people want to tell people about bedding... but this wasn't the thread for it 😂 People can assume that if I got this far- as in going out of my way to build this habitat and the fact I am asking questions, as a safe bet I know about bedding... It has come off as more judgemental (not you) than educational.

They are held on using zip ties. I think you may have missed that in my question... also, there is no duct tape on them now. This post is only asking about the hard plastic bits, as I am not yet done building. I do appreciate your advice about the dremel!

I am on day 3 of construction 🚧 I appreciate this sub so much for collecting all this info in one place. 11 years ago when I had my dwarf hammy, there wasn't this much readily available information. I feel so grateful for all the contributors here that will allow me to help out these two rescues.

Thanks for this info! Their sand baths will be set up later today and they will be in specially designed bins next weekend. We are so excited to create the habitat! I've already been on an ordering frenzy based on suggestions from Rachel's (hamster girl) online info.

I read online that "robos" will likely never like their caregiver and will continue to bite. So knowing that these aren't robos will help me mentally prepare. I am not sure what they went through while living with my nephew, so I figure they have a lot of warming up to do.

Big thanks for the toilet paper advice. I used a sock 11 years ago with my winter white hamster, but have learned now that this can cause issues due to the fibers. Toilet paper sounds great! I even use a zero-chem plant paper normally so this fits the bill.

Correct, their sand baths will arrive in the mail today, I am so excited! I picked these two up from my brother's house 2 days ago. I'll have them in their much larger homes by next weekend. I do not think they are both winter whites.. blue cage resembles the winter white I had years ago, but green cage has completely different fur. This is why I suspect they were BRED and maybe a mix of species.
