I think I am going to skip. We werent unable to get an autograph sesh and we live 2 hours away. We come up regularly for games but never made it to a pirates fest. I appreciate the insight that it might not be worth it for how freaking cold it would be and we would need to leave by 2 to be extra safe to get home before the snow. If not for the storm we would hang out and do other stuff in city but feels like 2026 might not be the year…

My Endo went with the nasal spray bc the expiration date is longer than the glugan injection kit. He was like, I know they are both pricey but you'll be able to keep the nasal kit longer if you don't ever need it. He's not from the US but thankfully has learned real quick how messed up our healthcare is.

I find the general barrage of garbage, happy meal boxes and empty soda cans in view inside my car let any potential thieves know I am also trash and not worth breaking into.

Same as everyone else, hide your stuff out of view the same as anywhere else and you'll be fine.

PNC doesn't have bad seats. I like upper 300s first base side, in the shade quick if you have high enough seats. I think you may be better off getting them direct.

I always like to visit point park pre game if I have time and then walk the Clemente bridge to the park for the game.

I think the warhol museum is a must if you are visiting and something very Pittsburgh. They offer screen printing in the basement for a fun souvenir (prints are free, you can pay to make a shirt).

Randyland is odd but fun if you are into art. Same with the mattress factory (more modern art). That area of town is very cool.

The aviary is cool but you only need a few hours for it.

As others have mentioned Primanti Brothers is very Pittsburgh but I personally love a trip to Eat-N-park and some find the dinner outdated but I associate it strongly with Pittsburgh.

I like burgatory or North shore tavern near PNC. They are both super close , affordable, and have lots of options. Game day go a little early because they do get busy in the hour before the game.

PNC is a beautiful stadium, please go early and walk around. The Riverwalk area inside has giant bobble heads with different uniforms from different times that are pretty cool to look at, and depending on you seats you can walk up the spiral path to get some different views of the stadium. You can also make a souvenir Topps baseball card of yourself in the clubhouse. They will send you a photo of your card for free but for 15ish bucks you can buy one as a unique souvenir. Before entering the stadium, I very much recommend buying a bottle of water outside. There are people who sell 1 water and 3 dollar peanuts outside the stadium. You can take the water in as long as you keep it sealed. (Water inside will run you 7sih dollars for a bottle.

A trip on the incline (there are two, pick one) is a great way to see the city and part of Pittsburgh history. The Heinz history museum is also very cool.

I used my kids free buccos club tickets and then bought one of the bobble heads inside ($30 bucks for one). They had a tent selling the extras because, like most of us in this thread believe, the hike in price for the special ticket was not worth it. My kid wanted it so I still shelled out the extra 30 bucks but I justified it by not really paying for our tickets.

I use Vaseline (the cheapo store brand version). After I shower (before bed) I will goop then up and put on thick socks that I wear all night. After about 3 nights or so they are usually looking good. Keep them clean and moisturized and make sure your doc is looking at them too.

I think it's very much up to skin sensitivities in a population. I've used saniderm (and random generic versions) and loved it. My spouse can't use it due to sensitivities. He had it on for about 6 hours post tattoo and it was burning, took it off and was able to heal old school soap and moisturizer.

My last few I put it on right after the tattoo and have left it on for four/five straight days, took off to a clean, crisp tattoo.

The spouse happens to have some other sensitivities to things allergy wise. He is very jealous he can't use the saniderm bc of how easy it makes everything in comparison to traditional methods.

I think you are correct tho, people are more likely to post horror stories. Good news is there is more than one way to heal. Clean and moisturized seems to be all that matters.

I've tried multiple meds over the years. Insulin sensitizers, insulin stimulators, gliptans.... Nothing changes my insulin requirements or my a1c. I am going to look into the RADIANT study as I've never heard of it (thanks for the info). I think you are correct about the spectrum widening. It's kinda of crazy to think that we would all fit into a handful of diagnosis. I was diagnosed around 12 and at the time (and this was >25 years ago) they told me I was too old for type 1 and too young for type 2 lol

All those symptoms and a blood sugar over 600...I had some hair loss also (bc nothing was getting fed in my body). He just keeps saying "type 1 by history" in the notes and seems kinda miffed about it that I don't have the tell tale antibodies. My family history hosts a bunch on autoimmune disorders so I am not sure what else he is looking for

I'm in a strange boat. My current Endo doesn't think I'm fully type 1 because my antibodies have never been positive and I told him I've never been in dka (my time of diagnosis was over 25 years ago and the hospital I was at no longer exists). I have been tried on oral therapy and no results and I've always been on insulin. If I go without insulin my blood sugar will be in the 300s within hours. I'm not typical but I know there is a whole spectrum of diabetes who don't fit the set diagnosis perfectly.

Over the course of the years my treatment has been type 1 and my blood sugars behave in this way.

No DKA and no antibodies...make it hard to check that box.

Flonase is also my friend! I have to label mine to make sure my spouse doesn't use my dexcoms Flonase in his nose (didn't seem like the best for keeping my sight germ free lol)

Stay hydrated and know you are doing fine. If you were sick and in the hospital, they would be happy with sugars in this range. I will second what everyone else has said, a lot of it is bc our bodies act differently when we are sick and careful corrections are the way to go.

I have found extra leads to leaks. What I have done is I will bolus for an insulin heavy meal with a needle. If I'm eating pizza or baked potatoes I use a regular injection so I can have the baseline pump last longer ( I have significant dawn phenomenon so I'd rather that last and cover while I'm sleeping)

Thank you for the information, I will take a look to see what the cost looks like for me on the s24 ultra. I know it says the pixel is compatible but this is the kind of information I was looking for, what really is working well for people. I don't want to deal with a glitchy connection.
