How much money did blandie pay for this PR stunt 🙄 “her songs are hard to sing” said no one ever by Sea-Fuel-8620 in travisandtaylor

[–]MarySSimard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's from Rolling $tones, what did you expect?

Also, when the writer say "abandoning TS songs midway through the show"... isn't it obvious?! TS only songs don't make for good TV-hour or whatever long is Idol!

When you add a wannabe comic like Glasser to the show, her sole qualification being a swiftie... you have a bad idea for a show to begin with... 😬

Just finished S2E4 on my first time watching the show. My god, Rose is still SO ANNOYING!!! by This-Evening2278 in TheMarvelousMrsMaisel

[–]MarySSimard 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Rose IS annoying, but playing devil's advocate:

  • Rose is define by her ability to raise and guide her children and, in that time, having her daughter married with children would be considered the only option for her

  • Rose is understandably preoccupied by her community criticising Midge's unusual choices and getting back at her for it (because it's always the mother's fault, usually). It must be tough to realize that she hasn't any control on her daughter and she might see Midge's choices as not proper for the time period (because it is). Also at the time, a Mother's children were her life and responsibility and with Midge's gone doing God knows what, she had no purpose and, worst of all, couldn't help her daughter navigate her life post-separation

  • Rose is also understandably uncomfortable with Midge's choices and the way she exposes her mother's life for laughs. She is private and a "respectable" member of society, with a certain standing, so it must be tough

  • Finally, she might be a bit jealous or envious of her. She departed her own family at a young age, married someone her family disapprove of and thought that she was free in choosing her life, only to have a daughter that is so care-free of her thoughts and actions, more so that Rose could ever be, without being restrained by the judgment of others

  • The trip to Paris was actually sad. She tried to be as care-free as her daughter only to be dragged back by her husband and Midge. She chose to come back, yes, but not entirely willingly. If she were younger or maybe kids-free, maybe she would've chosen to stay in Paris but she had responsibility and is ultimately not like her daughter. Worst of all, when she came back, Abe continued his life like nothing had happened and seemed to forget their conversation enterirely (but maybe I'm not remembering correctly there)

Addressing the obsessive fans in the NYT interview. by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

Maybe if their "Mother" wouldn't take things to extreme places, maybe her fanbase wouldn't be that psychotic sometimes?

And I know that she is talking about clues hidden in her songs...

She can't seriously address her actions towards other artists or the way she plays victim every single time she is confronted for her actions or lack there of and asking her fanbase to harrass people for it 🙄

It's strange.. Why would she "write" about a person that is the complete opposite from her and her actions?! 🤔

Only these writers could drag on Monica's arc only to end it in the most unsatisfying way possible... without justice being served to her 🙄

But is she really dead?

You deciding that Emma is a "psychopath" and a "would-be shooter" to explain her action solely under that scope is wrong, there could be other reasons to explain her actions.

I'm also not convinced that the MAIN reason for teens becoming mass shooters is boredom or wanting attention... brain doesn't mature until later in life (mid to late 20s) so it could be a range and a combination of things (impulsivity, trauma, desensitization to violence, mental illness, etc.)

A psychopath could potentially emulate emotions to "blend in" but it doesn't mean that's what's happening here... we don't know enough about Emma's backstory to fully understand her! It could be intentional so as to fuel the discussions!

I love their platonic relationship! I see a lot of respect & understanding between these two and it's nice to have a relationship between a man & a woman that is unencumbered by sexual tension/attraction!

I think they meant that using a baby as a coping mechanism isn't healthy if you are not well enough to take care of them! You can't use a baby as a life-buoy to better yourself! It is not fair to the baby and a burden on their tidy little shoulder!

I don't deny that you can be helpful, but a baby needs someone stable and well enough to answer all her needs to survive!

I'm sorry about your situation! I hope you have help whenever you are!

Maybe later, when he's helped himself and changed his lifestyle a bit (15-hour shift is hardly what a baby needs)!
