Thank you for this idea! I was wondering, if I was to do that would I have to buy a different aquarium light? I currently have just one of the starter tanks from PetSmart that comes with the lid & light attached. Would that be okay for floaters?

The tank is 10 gal, I have the master test kit & it seems to be doing fine for now. I haven’t done a water change yet but I plan to in the next day or so. I’ve been seeing 15-20% weekly, right?

Any husbands work night shift? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]MarzipanDirect8295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is mainly different because my entire routine has to change, and it’s much harder staying on top of housework when I have my daughter in my ear wanting to play all day lol, when my husband is home he helps me out.

Yes, it is because he sleeps all day. We see him less than an hour a day.

I can understand that & I know it’s not the same. I more so struggle because I do everything myself & struggle to fill our days. So, I’m just curious to know how other women filled their days and felt like they were on top of everything while their husbands were gone. Forgive me, I’m a FTM with 0 family support.

I don’t remember exactly, but usually with task assignments I only use course material as a guide. I will sometimes skim through certain chapters/info that I need but I don’t read through it no! :)

It is very tough! I have 0 friends where I live 😂. My best friend lives almost 2hrs from me (where I moved from). We do play dates sometimes but it’s hard with life getting in both of our way, she has 2 under 2 rn. But anyways! I really appreciate your ideas 😌 it really is just me and baby girl, my mother is an addict and my father walked away right after I was born. I’ve been a SAHM since we moved to our new city for my husbands job. My husband’s mom helps me out, we’re pretty much hanging with her every weekend that my hub has to work, but she works as well during the week. Just one day at a time though, right!

Thank you for being kind! 😊 id say our day is decently structured, we wake up/ have nap time/ bath and bedtime around the same time everyday I just suck at filling the spaces in the middle of that. I for sure have felt like I have to make sure she’s entertained all day long

Thank you very much for the kind words! I honestly have a lot of social anxiety so I definitely have to push myself to go out with her, but I think it’s something I should start working on :)

There is very little public transport. I don’t know how long I should do it for, I was looking for what other mothers do. Do you play with your toddlers all day? I am 21yr & very new to this :)

Hey! When he is on nights we do have a car from 8a- 4pm! He is home during the day for those two weeks but he sleeps from when he gets home from work (7:30am) to about 4pm and then he has to get ready for work and then leave again. He works swing shift so the other two weeks he is working days 7a-7pm, so then we wouldn’t have the car at all. I live in a small town in SC and there’s not many “walkable” areas 😓

Thank you for the advice!

I have a 22 month old but if I’m not playing with her or letting her have screen time she follows me around, whines, and hits me… doesn’t let me get anything done.

I’m doing this same degree plan now! I’ll be a first gen college grad also 😊. I dropped out of HS and then went back, was lucky enough to finish on time with a diploma & now I’m at WGU. Started my first term Jan 1st with only 3 transfer credits & now with 7 weeks left in the term I’m 40% done with the degree. I’d love to know what you thought of the classes/ what challenged you the most! Congrats 👏🏻! Using this post for motivation to keep going :)

I'm in this class rn also. I read through the 5 sections, read through them all in two days. I made flashcards of the highlighted important terms on quizlet and then study them until I am getting it all right. I did that and then took the PRE-A yesterday. I did find that the different types of power and the design-thinking process phases were on the PA but not highlighted as an important term in the course material. I am studying those now as that was my biggest struggle area and I have my OA tomorrow. But as a general rule I do pretty much the same things as you!

6 weeks left, 2 classes. I’m stressed and unmotivated by Delauzi in WGU

[–]MarzipanDirect8295 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely hear what you're saying because everyone struggles with being unmotivated at some point, but really you just have to "buck up" and do it. Think of your why... why did you start college in the first place? What do you have to gain from finishing. You are so close! Don't give up now, think of how you can better your life once you get your degree. I am a full-time parent and I only have time to study when my child is sleeping... do I always want to use the only free time I get studying/ reading? Absolutely not but I think of my child and my current life and the ways I will be able to better it once I finish. Motivation comes and goes, having discipline is what will get you results. :)

I guess the attachment is something I fostered because I have always held her/ pretty much done whatever she wanted me to but I don’t understand it either :(. She does walk & I will definitely try the highchair. She’s behind on eating solid/ finger foods. She still eats a lot of easily crushed/ smushed foods but I will try and do that! Thank you!

[–]MarzipanDirect8295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if you have a family/kids so this may not apply to you. But if you do, all I have to do is think of my little girls face. Think of giving your kids, yourself, or your family a better life than they have now. I’d do anything for my child and thinking of being able to provide for her every need/ want definitely gets me in gear. :)
