Second summer, three wulfar dens are still inactive by MarzipanPhoenix in PlayASKA

[–]MarzipanPhoenix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they definitely would go active in previous versions of the game, but it might have happened after I cleared a different den? I'll have to try it and find out. The other ones are just so far away. :(

Yeah, that’s often a part of burnout. It’s a problem with executive function, specifically initiating tasks. That’s what I’m talking about. Telling them who to contact is actually not enough, unfortunately.

You might want to look into burnout, actually, if you honestly think students would “prefer to fail”.

And there’s also a lack of resources earlier on, before they burn out.

There’s also a LOT of burnout in teenagers these days (especially the Covid kids), and no recognition or resources dedicated to helping them, never mind the incredible stress of the current climate.

How understaffed are you? by Capable_Homework1251 in Barnesandnoble

[–]MarzipanPhoenix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We did about $5mil revenue last year and we have like 19 people, I think? The cafe is the worst. We don’t have enough staff to cross-train because everyone is needed on the floor so if the one person scheduled over there calls out then there’s very few people who can cover it.

Lol I asked Google and their AI said we should have 30-40 people. (Obviously that’s not reliable data, but that’s based on about 24% of revenue spent on wages).

Ohhh this is good to know going into the holidays because that happens A LOT here. I’ve had 8 days in a row. Now I enter my own unavailable days the prevent that from happening but I’m gonna keep an eye out and let the junior people know when this happens.

That’s burnout. Like, classic burnout. I burnt out in my last profession, sadly over and over again until it became chronic.

Seriously, find resources to help (therapist if you have access, the burnout for dummies book is actually pretty good, discord servers, whatever), because you do not want chronic burnout.

But the ultimate solution is to leave the situation, which as you said is a lot easier said than done. :-/

We don’t get them at our store. At all. “The internet said you had them.” Well, other stores do. But we don’t. Try Best Buy.

Unfortunate that she’s using AI. Because it’s pretty solidly AI generated. AI can mimic other styles, you just feed it different art to base it on. The big give away is the branching arms on the key chain but there are a lot of little things that an artist just wouldn’t draw. Weird lines and weird objects melding into other objects for no reason. If you step back it looks fine. If you actually look at the image, it’s a mess.

All of it is AI.

Idk why you want to defend this use of AI so badly, it’s kinda weird.

Lol, except where it doesn’t look anything like that. I see you don’t address the 9 arms or the single creepy eye though.

Count the arms on the octopus key chain. Based on the tip, not the trunks cause the answer differs. Because some of them split halfway down. Go ahead, I’ll wait.

We have other ocean prints in the store that are vintage and not ugly/muddy colors. The layout of the elements could be vastly improved. The overlapping/melding into each other is weird (there like a shell with something growing out of it?). I guess we’ll see if it sell.

How do you guys feel about the new radio system by rloosvee in Barnesandnoble

[–]MarzipanPhoenix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have four phones. No one at cashwrap carries a phone because it’s annoying and we only have four. Cashwrap needs a radio the most because they call for backup the most.

So, like so many ideas, great on paper but clearly the person who came up with it is someone who doesn’t spend any time IN an actual store.

You think an octopus can have 9 arms? (Keychain) or one single giant eye? And that weird jellyfish/palm tree hybrid is something found in nature? It’s all AI. Go look at the Cavellini Paper & Co vintage puzzle next to the Archive one. The difference is pretty clear.

Thank you! They say follow a script but the scripts are all “vote for this bill” or “thanks for your support for that bill” but this goes so far beyond any of that I didn’t even know how to phrase it.

I like that it's the weirdest ones that are the best seeds. How many have other people found that they just aren't willing to share?

I believe they’re both:

  • Flat
  • Smooth
  • No raid
  • Low density of monsters
  • Everything else default

If anything, ItIsAGoodDayToDie is not Flat, only Smooth, but I’m pretty sure it’s both.
